I thought the game was way too unforgiving at release, and it was also really poorly optimized, not just difficult. But things have gotten a lot better with the recent patches, and I think it's really starting to improve. The vision is much clearer now. If you don't want to play an okay game with optimization issues that's still very much a work in progress, then you should definitely wait. But the potential is definitely there for it to become a fantastic game. As a big fan of HLD, I actually enjoy it a lot, even though it's still incomplete.
