Early Access Review
I have no idea what I'm doing, but I love this game. Here's my previous playthrough:

- Spawns in a spacious house with curtains. Decides it's a good base spot.
- Scavanges some supplies from nearby homes.
- Returns to base and closes all curtains. Thinks I'm safe.
- Proudly goes to sleep.
- Wakes up and decides to watch some TV.
- Zombies somehow break through one of the windows behind the TV.
- Base gets overrun.
- Runs upstairs and jumps out a window to escape.
- Hides in another house.
- Leaves to find a better base.
- After all of that, dies because of a sneaky zombie.

Love it.

Wildermyth is a game which managed to captivate me from the very first minutes after launching the game. It's immersive as hell, and each experience is unique, so the replayability is HUGE.

First of all, the characters, except for the starter 3, are completely randomized, with their own personalities, back stories, looks, tastes, and so on. It is very fun and interesting to see your already existing characters interacting and forming relationships with the newest additions to the party.

Randomness is my favorite aspect of this game. Characters can form relationships as time goes by, have children, get married, form rivalries, and so on. Another thing that plays a big part in the game is events, which are random comic book panel-style cut scenes where the characters interact, and where you can make choices that drastically and permanently influence the rest of the story and the future of your characters. Moreover, characters from previous campaigns, even dead ones, can make cameos or play important roles in future campaigns. Nobody is ever forgotten, as each character is added to your legacy.

The artstyle is charming, and I can't really imagine a better one for this type of game. It's a very well designed game, HOWEVER, there are some things that can be a bit annoying or immersion breaking at times for some people:

- Some events can be repetitive. Not drastically, though. I think only once or twice I got the same event in two different campaigns. They are planning to add more events in the future though, and you can also do that yourself with modding.
- The combat is... meh. While I like how some events or getting injured can influence the combat style of your characters, it's quite slow and repetitive. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the game has a 2x speed option for combat YET. And that can be a problem when there's like 20 characters on the board, and you have to wait for each one to finish their turn.
- Reading is an important aspect of this game, so if you're not into that, it's not really the game for you.

The game is only in 1.0, and it's already AMAZING, at least for me. I haven't even finished the 2nd campaign yet, and I am already in love. It's also highly moddable, so there's plenty more content available. I can't wait to see what this game will become in the future!

My expectations were quite low for this game, but oh well! It isn't that bad after all. I recommend playing on community servers though, cause official servers have very little loot.

Despite the lack of playing time on my Steam account, I've played this game a lot, but that was before it was released on Steam.

So this is basically one of those games that you play after a long day of school/work. It's relaxing, fun and addicting. You get born, you grow up, help around to make your settlement better for the next generations to come, help the newer generations, die and repeat the process. As simple as it may sound, it's actually a complex survival game, in which every single person matters.

YOU can make a change in this town. You can either make it thrive and have a long lasting bloodline, or make it fall by being lazy or killing people (which, for the love of God, don't do).

You can be a hero, a traveler, a king of your own kingdom, or whatever you want. It's all up to you (and what your ascendants left for you).

You get to experience an entire life in one hour, and I hope that this game will stay along for a lot of years, cause it's a very great concept.

Get this game, you won't regret it!

Honestly, writing a review for this game is totally pointless, because everybody knows that this game is THE zombie game. It is one of the most fun games of its genre. A multitude of other games tried to take L4D's unique hack n slash concept, but nothing can compare to the original.

I must admit, this game is a LOT more fun with friends or someone to communicate with, but even alone, or with random people, it's still a hell of a ride! This game is basically the thing that made me want to install Steam so much in the first place, but the thing that I like the most about the franchise is the customization.

The Workshop is filled with skins and other stuff, that can radically change the appearence of your game, from anime girls to Roblox characters.

There isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. If you are hesitant to buy this game, don't be. Just... go for it! Buy it now. It's been active for 10 years already, and it's still going strong. Have fun!

I will be as straightforward as possible. This game has a good concept, but it's incomplete. This review may have a few spoilers, so beware.

I will begin with the gameplay. For the first couple of hours, I didn't feel bored at all. Even though all the stages are revolving around the same things (killing walkers, finding stuff and killing humans), it's still fun, especially with friends or people who communicate very well, because there's a minimal amount of teamwork required here and there. The horde system is very nerve wrecking, which I really enjoy. So many times I've been afraid to increase the horde bar. The thing that bothers me is that, after finishing the main story missions, the side missions/daily/weekly/whatever became boring, because they are basically simplified versions of the main ones. Don't get me wrong, I like the loot that I'm receiving from them, but they are pretty repetitive.

The A.I. is a problem. Even though the zombies may be programmed very well (with the exception of a couple of bugs), the humans aren't. It's like they are faster and louder walkers. They dive head first into the players without any care in the world. Their accuracy is... let's say "out of this world". I recall that I've been shot several times while the humans were facing the opposite way to mine. That really needs some fixing. Also, they should supposedly know how the walkers work. So why do they shoot like there's no tomorrow? That doesn't really make sense to me.

There are some mechanics that aren't really... necessary from my point of view. For example the missions for survivors. I mean, sure, they may give a couple of resources here and there and increase the morale of your camp, but overall, I think it should be more segnificant.

Now the spoilers part. Heather's death. Why would you give her a deluxe skin if she dies anyway? Like... what's the point of paying 18 extra euros for the deluxe upgrade if she dies? I think it's kind of a waste, but I trust the developers that they're gonna do something to make up for it.

Overall, this game is nice. It is very fun with friends, it has a nice concept, but it lacks a couple of features to make it good/great. It's kind of repetitive and buggy, but the devs are working hard to fix and add stuff to their game. I think it should've been in development for a little longer, but it will get better over time.
