is pvp dead in this game?

this game is nothing but good ol' yeehaw, i really love the game and its my main game.
the game consists of 80% smol pp sweat campers who know no better and the other 20% is normal folks who have good aim and like to fight.

PROS:
very enjoyable
hard to master
gives you that good rush when fighting
fights can be long or fast depending on your play style
sound is everything (make sure to have good headphones)
strategy matters

CONS:
first of all game is dying, player base is nothing but adults
game lacks maps variety
can be really frustrating using certain guns like shotguns (sometimes a shot to the face does nothing to the enemy, and sometimes they shoot you from 15m and you die)
crytek does nothing against hackers

game might go free to play as indicated by lead developers.

Game became camping grounds, if you are not buying shotguns you are off meta.

slugs and shotties win the game, had 5 games in a row where literally all players had a shottie.
