Early Access Review
Played the game a little more during the free weekend, so I thought I would update my review that seems to have lots of people not happy with my old review.

Killing Floor 2 plays a lot like Killing Floor 1, just better almost everything. Better graphics is the first thing you notice, though that shouldn't be too suprising as the first game is about 10 years old. There are also more types of Zeds added to the game, including all the old ones that have had their movements changed to make them more terrifying. The stalkers are almost completly invisible now, even playing with a commando (it looks like you need a perk to see them) the new clot things have some crazy ninja moves where they will drop to the ground and roll toward you making them hard to shoot, and the Fleshpounder and Scrake scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of you as they anounce their arrival with a loud scream that can be heard over the whole map.

The perks have changed, you can now level up to 25 instead of 6 now, and ever 5 levels lets you chose one of two perk bonuses to pick from and it looks like you can change them anytime you want. From what I read they are keeping all the old perks, and adding some new ones as well, right now the Gunslinger (uses dual pistols) is the only new one to have been added to the game.

A few more changes is it now looks like each of the killing floor 2 characters has their own voice diffrent voice, and some new lines they say during the game, and you can customize them with jackets, hats, sunglasses, ect. The collectibles are back and on every map now also, though it looks like you need to find only 10 of the things now instead of 30. The music is also back and in my oppion better than the first game, songs just seem to fit the mood of the game though after a couple hundred hours I am sure they will get old as well, but that is what mods are for.

I said that KF2 was better then almost everthing in KF1, but there are some changes to it that I am not a big fan of, but this is Early Access so some of these will change before release... I hope.

First problem is there is a lack of weapons to chooes from, each perk is released with just 4 weapons, each one just a bit better than the one before it. I am sure there will be more weapons added to the game, but it is a big change to go from your choice of 9 diffrent Commando weapons, down to your starting weapon and 3 upgrades in the trader.

Second problem is that some of the controles have been gimped for consoles. Instead of a voice chat menu using the number keys and giving you about 20 options, it has been replaced with an awkward radial voice menu for a total of 8 commands. Also for the consoles, they have changed the weapons slots from the 1-5 keys down to 1-4 making sure you will have to double tap those numbers much more often than you should. My one time playing with the Gunslinger left me with 3 dual pistols and a medic smg all bound to the 1 key, and yes that is some awakard ♥♥♥♥ right there.

Third problem I have with the game right now is just the slow release of content for the game. I have been following this game since it launched and while Tripwire did not put a release date on it and told people it could take some time, things have just been going a bit slower than I thought they would be. Game has not been abandoned, it does get perk/map updates along with WWAUT annoucements at least once a month if not more, I just was expecting to see more added to the game by now. I personaly don't buy games in Early Access, but it is up to you to decide if there is enough content to justify an unfinshed game for you or not.

Finally one last thing has to be mentioned about the game. Tripwire has added microtransactions to the game for cosmetics such as weapon skins and hats. This has caused some anger from some people, so you need to decide for youself if you are fine with this or not. My personal feelings are I don't give a ♥♥♥♥, I didn't buy any DLC in the first game and I don't plan on buying it in this game.

I don't even know why this is on Steam, it's a browser game. You install it, hit play and the game open your browser where then have to create an account for it, even if you choose to link it to Steam.

What is the point of putting a game on Steam when it is not a Steam game and there is no Steam functions?
