Glad to see the complexity is came back once again. Steap learning curve is the small magical thing what pulls away this piece from the casual "please hold my hand, because I'm afraid" games.

If you like difficult to learn, and hard to master style games, this is the one what you looking for.

I payed full price for it, and even is feels like 60% finished, have a few dodgy features and the difficult is way cut back still worth every penny.

All I can say, if you played previous episodes (X BoF, X2, X3s), X4 is Iives up for the name and you should give it a try.
But if you new to the series I recon wait a bit, till it's taking the final form.

If any of the developers reading this: there should be another 0 on the end of the ship, equipment and station building prices. It's kind of easy like this...
