Bland and repetitive. Very broken engine with a lot of bugs. So many features that are missing that should not have been. Also a very clearly rigged steam award, as this game lacks anything you would consider innovation in a game. I do not recommend ever giving Bethesda your money after this cluster ♥♥♥♥.

Basically reminds me of Space Hulk. You board a derelict swarming with Xenos and fight your way through gathering as much intel off these data terminals (You collect various upgrades from them as you complete them) as you can before scuttling the ship and moving on to the next. Your weapons are incredibly powerful and punchy but they also can hurt you by using their large amount of muzzle flash to blind you to enemies that may be right in front of you. Personally it adds to the strengths of the game, making you feel isolated especially in tune with the tight hallways, the proximity based music, the rapidly changing FOV and stingers when enemies jump you from their statue like state. Keep calm and hold the trigger, because they come at you in massive waves and from multiple directions. Use laser gates (basically giant bug zappers and they are awesome), machine gun sentries and the large amount of hatches to slow the advance of the Xeno hordes. The upgrades you gain from the terminals range from ammunition capacity upgrades to motion tracker upgrades such as directional trackers and mapping capabilities. Ammunition is limited and scattered meaning that you are on a constant time limit and need to move quickly to each objective and try to minimize your ammunition usage as much as you can. Be wary of the defenses you have set up as well because bullets ricochet off laser gates and the sentries can sometimes accidentally strafe you as well and the power can just randomly shut off leaving everything from hatches to defenses offline and easy for the Xeno scum to pass through. You will die. A lot. the maps are randomly generated and sometimes there's just no escape from the incoming hordes of aliens. That is normal, this game is hard and meant for masochists. You can fully tailor your experience to be as easy or as hard as you like with the plethora of settings available and there's also mission of the day, campaign of the week, and a ton of community generated content. I sadly haven't gotten a squad of marines together yet to take on the hulks yet but when I do I'll talk about the multiplayer but I can imagine it's awesome and just as frantic if not more-so than singleplayer. If you are a fan of the original Aliens film and of Warhammer 40k or even if you only like Space Hulk, I'd say for the small price of admission this game so far is great bang for your buck fun. It's a good one to just play in short bursts or to run through a campaign of missions back to back. Good hunting Marines.

The bursts of gunfire and screams will fill your comms before ending abruptly as the power cuts out.
You step over the bodies of your fallen battle buddies and frantically search for the breaker box.
Several figures break through the now powerless doors and you fire wildly into the darkness as the dim red glow of your long dead flashlight illuminates the green paste that was once a xenomorph.
Several more are trailing behind it and alarms start blaring as your ammunition quickly depletes.
The last thing you will see as you lose control...

Early Access Review
Me and many other people like me have had very fond memories of this game in the past. I met many amazing friends and people that I'd gladly call family. It helped me get through a lot of depression in the past and during my military career. That is the reason this is so painful to me. The Developer is a narcissistic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who is completely deaf to the feedback of the players. He is entirely unable to fathom what made this game great was its community and its dedicated modding teams, who strove to make an already amazing virtual space even better and more inclusive for everyone. He has singlehandedly killed both the game and his community because of his inability to listen. When VRChat+ was added it left a sour taste in my mouth but it was tolerated as it was used to help "improve the game". That was when it started: The attack on modders. In order to even have avatars past a limit now you had to pay money. For digital ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ avatar space. Many modding teams received cease and desist letters at this time. Eventually VRC's team had to give up on their stupid crusade against their own players. Then comes "the security update". God what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ travesty. Killed the entire game's modding community with a stupid Anticheat software that just barely works at best and makes the game slow to a crawl at worst as well as disables most, if not all quality of life mods. These fools then post updates saying that they "hear our concerns". Absolute BS. They are now adding features modders had added long before, and claiming that they are trying to make the game better. No. They. Are. Not. They are blatantly trying to monetize features that should be free and also showing a complete disregard for their community and their feedback. Do not download this software. It is not worth wasting your time on a game with crappy devs that don't listen. If they were actually "hearing our concerns" they would rollback the stupid anticheat update. Screw you VRChat team. You have made something that for a time was amazing into a big steaming pile of garbage. Enjoy your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money you stupid sellouts.
