W for everyone banding together and Sony reversing the decision, hope the game can recover.

One of my main complaint would be on the multiplayer side of things, an area which I desperately wish the game got more support, multiplayer campaigns are such a blast! Especially with the overhaul they've done in the game with 8 player lobby's and simultaneous turns. The only problem is if you get over 3 or 4 people who don't have good connection... it becomes an unplayable lagfest.. which is really unfortunate, essentially rendering one of the core selling points of game 3 moot. CA has definitely won back a lot of good will with not just the quality of Thrones of Decay but also the extensiveness of update 5.0 reinvigorating the game in many facets and listening to feedback about even brand new systems! Let's hope the standard going forward is at least around this level!

Amending my current review, the bug support for the game and the DLC price hike has totally crushed any goodwill in the community, seems like almost none of the money that goes into the game is being put back into supporting it. I feel bad for the skeleton crew trying to run this game, they clearly have an absurd lack of resources to do regular updates and patch all the holes in this behemoth of a ship that is currently really suffering. Hope things improve, sad to see one of my favorite game series in such a state.

Fatshark has time and time again disappointed me in many facets. They have good core gameplay, but that's about where their competence ends. As someone who did like vermintide quite a bit, (320+ hours) the game more often than not has been a BROKEN MESS. Bugs running rampant, glitches and all sorts of terrible connection problems and general jank. The surrounding systems are pretty terrible as well. The crafting in vermintide was always just tedious and uninteresting, red rarity items are just too rare, and if you somehow got so unlucky with red drops that you ended up with dupes when you crafted a red weapon guess what. IT didn't glow! Genius design really. Soo.. I could go on and on about the many problems of vermintide for thousands of words.

Case and point, when I heard they were making ANOTHER game while vermintide was still a mostly unsupported janky game held together by spit and glue, I was skeptical. I saw the ads for the game and went "wow amazing 40k nurgle dumbed down into zombo shooter how original" Fatshark again, just failing to deliver in a lot of ways on what the warhammer universes has to offer. What I didn't realize at first is how many assets and different aspects of the game were straight up ripped straight out of vermintide and given a 40k coat of paint. Which I was willing to forgive if they released with a lot of content and some interesting varied enemies. But at best I was apprehensive and honestly not all that interested at first look, I knew Fatshark, and my expectations were very low.

Tried the 'closed' beta, had some fun with friends, was made to feel a bit more optimistic about the game wondering "just how much content" they had locked for the beta and imagining what the possibilities could look like on release. The game comes out, it's painfully obvious as a vermintide vet just how much they reused for this game, I jump into it with friends and have some fun, do some missions, level up various classes, and then it dawns on me. Almost every single facet of this game is a step BACKWARDS in game design from their previous titles, remember that game I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on earlier for having some strong gameplay but weak surrounding systems and very poor polish? Darktide makes Vermintide look like a perfect game, which it isn't by any stretch of the imagination. Fatshark decided that instead of fixing bugs and connection issues they'd get the cash shop up and running, even adding fake FOMO to boost sales.

I noticed after awhile.. literally everything about the game (besides maybe the core gameplay) is a step backwards.. no crafting, overly grindy weekly/ daily missions to artificially increase playtime. Mobile game tier ♥♥♥♥. A mess of poor optimization and buggy enemies. 1 LEVEL BOSS... 1! Which btw, is the most generic pushover of a boss I've ever seen in a game of this genre. A "Story" more accurately described a series of half-assed cutscenes that funnily enough perfectly portray the abusive relationship between Fatshark and it's dedicated fans. They keep coming back for the absolutely miniscule amounts of saving graces the series has. With as stingy as GW is with licensing big budget Warhammer games it boggles my mind as to why Fatshark is seemingly given this special treatment and able to ride the gravy train of starved Warhammer fans. I can only assume some sort of Nepotism is involved.

All in All the game has almost been out for going on 3 months ( more like 4 or 5 if you consider the betas, considering issues brought up back then still haven't been fixed.) Many features promised on release have yet to be implemented, one being one of the most basic barebones features you could ask for, the ability to craft a weapon.. not rely on a random rotating shop. The game does everything in it's power to disrespect your time, you aren't able to que up for specific missions, which is just.. bizarre?..

Here's your thumbs down Fatshark, you've earned it.

Just make the classes cost a little more and include the cosmetics, its unbelievably dumb to have a seperate package for something that is already a dlc

A breath of fresh air for people looking for an intuitive easy to get into experience, no long tutorial, just drops you straight into the game and lets you play it. Very easy to learn with a very high skill cap, almost every item in the game has some kind of creative use even if it is more fringe. Music is incredible and the gameplay loop does a good job of easing you into the difficulty before slamming you with some really challenging enemies and situations. Overall pretty much zero complaints with the game, easy 10/10.
