Some recommendations I can give are Burnout 3: Takedown [en.wikipedia.org], Assetto Corsa (SRP) [shutokorevivalproject.com], and the WMMT (Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune) [wanganmaxi-official.com] arcade series.

You can still find current WMMT games in arcades around the world today. With the latest version always being in Japan.


As with all games, the OST is important in how we perceive a game while playing it. The aforementioned games have very distinct genres of music as a part of their soundtracks; which helps accelerate the feeling of speed, action, to name a few.

Burnout 3 has themes of pop punk, alternative, some metal and thrash. WMMT has themes of electronic, techno, and trance music.

Although Assetto Corsa SRP has no direct soundtrack as it is a large mod for Assetto Corsa, it is largely based of Wangan Midnight and the 80s, 90s, and 2000s highway racing in Tokyo City. Therefore the music generally associated with it is similar to WMMT.

I would recommend giving a brief listen to these soundtracks. As they have had a large but relatively unknown impact on games since their respective releases.
