In 1945, we had the Nuremburg trials. Some soldiers claimed they were just following orders, and that only their state (Germany) could convict them, and could not be tried as individuals. The International Military Tribunal established that they in fact can be tried as individuals. What do you think is going to happen when a U.S Soldier who preforms an illegal order, say they kill a Venezuelan civilian travels to a foreign country for vacation. Say it is the United Kingdom who follows the International Criminal Court decides to arrest these people and try them for war crimes. The Nuremburg Defense is no defense at all.
