I had the chance to try the demo of Double It, the new game from Kngl Studio, and honestly, it was a much more enjoyable experience than I expected. While the core mechanic of the game seems simple at first, the strategic decisions that come into play as you progress show how cleverly that simplicity is used.

The demo lasts around 30–45 minutes, and within that time, you get a clear sense of the game’s core structure, atmosphere, and potential. The visuals are minimalistic but well-crafted. The color palette is simple, which makes the game easy on the eyes and comfortable to play for extended periods. The interface is clean and intuitive — everything is right where it should be, and nothing feels clunky.

In terms of gameplay, Double It takes the seemingly basic concept of “doubling a number” and builds on it with layered rules that add real depth. As you advance, it stops being just about clicking and becomes more about planning your moves carefully. Especially in the later levels, you start thinking, “If I take this step now, what will happen next?”

Of course, there are a few minor issues. For example, the sound design could be stronger. There is some background music, but it’s not very immersive or atmospheric. Also, for new players, some mechanics might feel a bit unclear — maybe a short tutorial level or a more detailed introduction would help ease the learning curve.

That said, the Double It demo delivers an experience that went above my expectations. Anyone who enjoys puzzle and strategy games should definitely give it a try. I believe Kngl Studio has the potential to make a real name for itself in the indie scene with this title.
