Early Access Review
In the current state of the game, I have to say I probably wouldn't recommend purchasing. I have about 9 hours played and I feel I've kind of seen and done most of what the game currently has to offer. Given, I had a blast the entire time so I think I've gotten my $30 worth already. The new building system is awesome and satisfying, however, there's no reason really to build anything at the moment. I'll definitely keep an eye on updates and modify this review based on that. I understand that the developers released it as early access because they didn't want to delay it anymore. I still say, to this day, that the original game is by far my favorite survival game out there, so I hope this one surpasses that at some point. The developers definitely have the money now to create some amazing things.

I was hesitant to purchase this game for the longest time for my Oculus Rift S because I didn't think a VR game was worth $60. I did purchase it for around $40 on sale. After playing it through, I definitely wish I would have paid full price when it first came out. It is TRULY an experience everyone should have.

This is definitely an amazing survival game. However, it doesn't really bring anything "new" to the table. It really gives you "The Forest" vibes, just with different mechanics.

This game needs more popularity. One of my favorite VR rhythm games and feels really good. It takes a bit to get used to, but once you get the hang of the guns, its pretty easy to pick up and play new songs.

Masterpiece of a game.
Gameplay - the most satisfying platformer I've ever played, right after Ori and the Blind Forest.
Story - Simple yet deep and powerful
Graphics - Unique and beautiful art style. Its a 2D platformer but you often forget that while playing.
Soundtrack - It gives you the chills
Boss Fights - Not too easy, not too hard. Satisfying to fight and defeat. Not frustrating at all
Chase Scenes - These are kind of combined with the boss fights now. I wish they were longer!

Edit 3/9/2022:
I have not played this game in a couple months. Not because I don't want to, but I feel like there is no purpose to. I got to Onyx rank and just haven't played Ranked since. I stand by this game feeling like the best FPS out there. Its just so unrewarding to play. The campaign was decent, but it doesn't feel worth playing to 100% complete. At this point I'm just waiting for custom games/forge/firefight of any sort. Obviously the game is free, so I still recommend playing. But 343 needs to do more than lengthy battle passes and minor gamemode events.

Review as of 11/21/2021:
This multiplayer is near perfect in terms of a Halo game. 343 is building this game entirely on fan feedback and it has paid off. They've fixed a ton of bugs already and are working to make the unanimously hated progression system better. I'm hoping by the time of official release, it will be fixed to a point where most people are satisfied.

Game-play is extremely satisfying, even on games you don't do so hot on. I usually always know what I did wrong and what I need to do different to win a certain gunfight. I very very rarely feel cheated. I have nearly 120 total games played at the time of this review after 1 week of playing. I love this game so much. It is the most fun I've had in an FPS competitive shooter in a long long time. I'm currently Diamond 3 in rank so I can't really speak so much on lesser skilled players.

Obviously it has its issues I will bring up briefly:
1) No insta-melee kill while holding the objective seems rather disappointing. It seems pretty well balanced making it two hits to kill, but I know I've heard lots of complaints on this.
2) The audio bug on certain headsets where you can't hear gunshots directly behind you.
3) Player customization seems rather cookie cutter. Everyone has all the gear and is unlocking the same gear at the same time. Doesn't feel unique.
4) Melee and Grenades are definitely king in this game. A little too much at times. Definitely one of the main points new players bring up to me as to why they aren't enjoying the game.
5) Another complaint I've heard from people is that they have a hard time finding weapons on the map. Obviously the more you play, the more you pick up on this type of stuff.

Its a shame that the game is being review bombed mainly due to the progression system. Yes it needs changing, but I hope these people fix their reviews once they fix the progression system. This game deserves an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating on Steam!

The game should really be removed from the steam store. The game is great but you literally can't play it anymore if you have an updated computer.

The game is extremely terrifying when you first start because you don't know how anything works. As you learn things, it slowly becomes a competitive game. Sometimes a little too competitive. However, no one sends chat messages anymore since cross platform multiplayer was enabled so it is definitely not as toxic as it used to be. Its a fun game to master and really fun with friends. Its definitely worth picking up and trying for its price (especially if its on sale).

My only complaint has to be the long queue times as survivor. Almost everyone plays survivor so sometimes you are waiting up to 10-15 minutes just to load into a game. This reason right here is kind of why I don't play the game as much anymore.

Early Access Review
Condo Decorating - Unlimited options for what you want in your Condo that people can join and see. many different options small and large. Even a flatland map so you can make ANYTHING you want.
Mini Golf - Very similar to Golf with your Friends, but better imo
Typing Derby - Put your typing skills to the test with others
Fishing - Sit back, relax, fish for loot, or fish
Trivia - Test your random knowledge against other players with a jeopardy style trivia game
Music - Playable Piano and drums which are actually really well made
Casino - This is where a lot of people spend most of their time, gambling all of their money away
Bowling - Bowl by yourself, bowl with your friends, its traditional bowling
Virus - This game's version of Infected or Living Dead from games like COD and Halo
Zombie Massacre - Top down zombie survival
Little Crusaders - Dragon vs Knights, fun original game!
Ball Race - fun for a while, run in a ball against your friends.
Theater - This is where most of my hours are spent on this game. You can upload YouTube videos to the theater room, (you can get a private theater Condo) and watch it live with anyone else in the theater.

The Social abilities of this game are absolutely astounding. You can chat with other people from other servers, join condos, play music, mini games, just chillax with people.
For $15 I highly recommend this game to ANYONE. There is so much content and the developers are only adding more and more.
oh, and did I say it is only in Early Access? It could easily be fully released in its current state, but the developers are determined!

EDIT:
About a year after my first review above and the game is still one of my favorites. I'm coming up to 1000 hours and don't regret a single one. PixelTail has since added gamemodes like Accelerate (Mario Kart style mini game) a fully functional arcade, and many many bug fixes and new content. Still a 10/10 in my eyes from a game critic point of view. You seriously can't get any more content for this price in any other game. I honestly don't know of any other game with this much content to be honest. If you do, please enlighten me.

It is Beat Saber. If you own VR, you own Beat Saber. That is a rule
