Mount and Blade Warband is one of the best openworld-sandbox games currently available. Starting in the singleplayer campaign, really makes you feel like you have nothing, so when you finally begin to get power money and renown it feels like you earned it. Starting and building a kingdom is difficult, ESPECIALLY if you don't know what you are doing, but the political side of running a kingdom makes it very interesting as giving lords land will cause others to grow to hate you, and due to the different personalities that lords have it is important to chose which lords that you want as they will react in different ways to how you act throughout the game. The combat is simple, but sweet, and it only gets better in multiplayer as the other players make it a lot more challenging, and show you the high skill ceiling. (Side note keep an eye out for anyone not wearing armor and have a greatsword, or the faction's equivalent, in multiplayer, as they are typically really skilled.) Also the modding scene is perhaps the best modding community in gaming, yes even better than Skyrim's modding community, because many of the mods are as good as the main game, or even better, and they can show a great deal of polish and can reinvigorate your love for the game. (I personally recommend Gekokujo, Prophesy of Pendor, and Last Days of the Third Age, each are massive and very polished, they are total conversion mods that are similar to the DLC or better.) All in all its a great game that is well worth the price you pay for it, and the modding community will guarantee that you get you money's worth out of the game. 10/10
