Squad isn't the most realistic shooter out there, but it does manage to strike a great balance between tactical play and game fictions that are required for the game to be fun. It offers accessibility to the tactical shooter genre and the command structure needed for a match to work, that others like Arma usually struggle more with, yes Arma or tarkov are more complex, with a wider range of options in weapons and vehicles, but it's way harder to find a properly structured server where you can instantly join a squad and start playing without being in a clan or something of the sort. Also the game and the devs have understood the task at hand and have worked hard to improve the game, adding factions and mechanics that don't escape the scale of the game while improving it (tho the FPS joke is not always a joke).

The fact that i enjoy the most about Squad is how high the stakes are, killing 3, 6 or even above 10 enemies feels like a feat sometimes, and from the combination of those high stakes and the fact that almost everything going on is up to another player assures you every situation is different from the rest, and from that factor, more than gameplay moments you get adventures, memories and moments you may even end up remembering with your friend time after playing.
