I hate the phrase "making love"

It indicates immaturity, naive confusion between sexual activities and the emotion that is known as "love". I really find this word combo highly annoying. Especially when it occurs within song lyrics, that's the best way to ruin what might have been a good song. Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Yes, sometimes these 2 things can come together simultaneously, but it's not to be counted on as fact.

After a wild romp in the sack all weekend with a partner that you just met, you are a gullible fool to believe that love has anything to do with it. You cannot "make love", but you can "perform sexual activities", you can engage in sexual escapades, but the only thing that you might be "making" is an unwise decision especially if you fail to use contraceptives and protective gear, and then you are both permanently tethered by means of reproducing an offspring.

You and your brand new sidekick in carnal pleasures most likely will end up "making" a messy situation if you think that you are "soulmates" after a phase of mind-blowing mad delicious sex. It will get old and redundant as the charm fades, it will.

If you both are mutually striving to stay with each other when the times get tough, when and you have a sincere loyalty to be there and support one another, then you might could possibly call that "love", even though you are no longer having sex with each other, and at least one of you are looking at other people with a sexual interest, and you are able to deal with that without getting jealous and possessive.

When my rude little chihuahua starts humping on my foot because he is aroused (although he is neutered), he is not making love to my foot. He is attempting to relieve his tension by using my foot as a substitute for his little hot ♥♥♥♥♥, and after I give him a little kick to discourage that behavior, he'll masturbate by humping on one of the teddy bears in my room. He is NOT "making love" to the stuffed animals.
