Combat:

Combat, as of now, needs a lot of improvement. Gunplay feels very floaty and enemies don't react to getting shot, making it difficult to see if you landed a shot or not. It feels....plastic-y....and fake. Guns have recoil, but lack the feeling of impact that a game like Escape From Tarkov can deliver. This combined with the intense server lag can make gunfights feel absolutely terrible at times. Hit detection is even worse. This might have to do with the server problems. Often times you'll be shooting a Scav in the head multiple times, but the game doesn't register your shots and you end up being killed. Despite this, shooting can be fun at times, and it feels rewarding to clear an army base full of Scavs.

Graphics

Overall, the game looks (and runs) great on max settings. It's surprisingly well optimized for a UE4 game. One major drawback however is the draw distance. Evan at max, the draw distance is very low for characters. Enemy scavs or players can even disappear at far distances, making it very difficult to take them out from long range.

Online Play

If you're going to play this game, play it with friends. The experience is much better with a squad of people, and it's a lot of fun looting houses, and shooting Scavs with friends. Connection problems run rampant but with time I'm sure this will be fixed. I have not encountered hackers in my playtime like a lot of people say they have. However, if I were to find a hacker, there is no way to report players in game as far as I can tell. This really needs to be added as there will not be a way to thwart hacking until we have a way to report players. If you don't have friends to play with, make your way to a safe zone and talk to randoms. It's a great way to get a squad going.

Conclusion

Overall, I'd recommend this game if you can find other people to play with. The game has lots of bugs, but that's to be expected for such an early game. As the game grows and improves I feel like I'll be able to safely say that it will become what DayZ couldn't be.
