It has been a year since this DLC was released, and in that time this ♥♥♥♥ still doesn't work.

Let me save you 15 dollars by describing what your experience is going to be with this DLC turned on.

If you picked Afghanistan, congrats! Unless you move quick enough you're locked in a civil war. If you pick a nation that requires Afghanistan and they go into a civil war, then too bad because the AI is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid to finish the civil war in a reasonable time. I got locked out of my Persia playthrough because their civil war wasn't completed until 1944, which by that point there was no reason to keep going.

If Afghanistan doesn't skull ♥♥♥♥ your playthrough by trying to kill itself, here are the two things you can look forward to; either you get into an early war with a major power (with no scripted peace deal I might add) so if you go to war with the UK, that means you have to land your troops in London to get Kuwait.

If you avoid war with a major power, then congrats! It's the mid to late 40's and your computer will be trying to download more RAM to fix the terrible optimization by the time you have any game impact.

The only silver lining to this piece of ♥♥♥♥ DLC that the bastards at Paradox spat in our face is that there are no changes to gameplay mechanics, so you can turn Graveyard of Empires off and you won't miss out on anything.

Stay as far away from this nightmare as possible.

I had so much hope for this one. I'm six years late on this, but I really wanted to get sucked into the world, be invested in the characters and be engaged with the dialogue. Coming from the people that made my favorite RPG, I had high hopes for it, but while it had a lot of improvements on mechanics and design, the worst thing that could happen when playing a game occured; I got bored. I did not care about the story, the characters, the world, or the game in general.

Maybe the second one will have that charm and writing that gets obsessed with it, but I don't know if I'll get it.

Game works, but I wasn't invested

This game has the best western soundtrack I've heard in a video game. I put it above RDR2 and Hardspace Shipbreaker when it comes to OST. As for the game...

It's fine. Not for me but it's unique

Game's visuals is dated, and the story is forgettable, but the combat is fun and surprisingly fun, scrambling for the few guns in the levels and racing against you enemies to grab it is always thrilling, but what I like most about the game is the eerie silence between the moments of combat and detective work. There are a few jumpscares, but the game earns it by giving horror blue balls. You always have that feeling that you're never safe, that there's someone around the corner or behind a door and does it in a completely natural way without it being cheap.

Also you get to beat up the homeless

Lost the championship because my infielders kept bumping into each other like intoxicated lemmings on ice giving up 4 runs.

Pablo was in the outfield and had to watch in horror as the team he single handedly led to the playoffs threw the game away in the stupidest way

I got into this game at the tail end of when Valve cared about it, and I absolutely loved playing it. I cannot tell you how many memorable moments I had when playing this by myself or with friends, but it seems I care about it a lot more than the developers do.

The neglect has gone on far too long, and I feel that this game is making a slow decline into irrelevance. This game deserves more, its players deserve more, but after seeing Deadlock get leaked and how it's basically Overwatch without porn, I really don't think they're going to fix the years of abandonment.

Play the game while you can, but if the game's creators don't care, why should you?

Genuinely the best live service game on the market, they have made a truly memorable experience with this. The updates are so much fun, making the community work for new content in an engaging way, and the passion from the developers and their willingness to listen to their community is a breath of fresh air in this industry.

My only criticism doesn't have to do with the game, but with its publisher. Sony needs to stay the hell away from this game; it's doing fine, you messing with it will only piss people off.

Other than that I highly recommend, buy it today

This game felt like my balls were slowly being compressed by two iPhones; it was mind numbing, filled with filler ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ missions (i.e trailing, escort, stupid stealth segments), the characters feel like they're presenting a PowerPoint instead of interacting with each other, and the world is too empty. There are some really cool ideas and mechanics in this game, but it feels like the devs weren't confident enough in executing them, so they just did what everyone else was doing. I haven't finished the game at the time of this review, which might negate the criticism, but if I've put 12 hours into this game and feel *nothing*, then it tells me that it's going to remain that way for the next "however many hours left I play". If there's a sequel to this game, I hope they cut all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and flesh out the mechanics in a way that feels unique and fresh, because the zombie genre desperately needs that
