在整个历史向全站系列中，手感上佳，对于之前诸多玩家声讨的内政复杂问题，在本作中做了简化，UI和兵牌立绘做了改变，独特于罗马2和阿提拉，其风格和阿提拉查理曼大帝DLC接近，一扫阿提拉本身的黑暗毁灭的风格，战斗细节和罗2 阿提拉 一脉相承，多了维京风格式盾墙，以及步兵的冲锋阵型，取消了一直以来的事务官及冲骑，做了诺曼派系的兵种及建模但能明显看出部分诺曼兵种前后期衔接不全，仅能作为后期的boss而非玩家可选派系，也并没有推出诺曼征服dlc，综上所述是小体量精美的历史切片式的全战，如果打折购买那它就是为全战玩家精心准备的一份告别礼物。
