One of the few games I wish I didn't buy on sale.
Excellent combat, interesting puzzles, wonderful characters, elegant storytelling, and a sense of satisfaction that few games give.
Buy it.

Are you tired of regular old Terraria? Tired of the same weapons, bosses, classes, and biomes? Well for the price of completely free you have access to some great extra content. Of course not every mod is made equal, but it doesn't really matter when it's impossible to waste money on it. There is absolutely no objective reason not to download this if you play Terraria. 10/10

There is a lot of fun to be had in this very simple game. The combat despite being so simple is very rewarding in both a physical and mental sense. The sounds during combat are very well made and the reaction from the enemy being hit is great. The progression from measly man with rock to near godlike levels of damage, speed, and health makes you feel like you're accomplishing something. Of course nothing is perfect and Muck is no exception. Dying. It becomes hard to make dying fun with a game as hard as this. Usually its no big deal with friends or on the earlier nights. With friends because it isn't as punishing and on the first nights because you know that its your fault. On the later nights and with challenge totems past day 8 there becomes the risk of being killed by multiple bosses. While 2 of any boss is manageable when you you start getting multiple groups of the many bosses it becomes unbearable. This is only of fault in the game that I think knocks it down a peg. Other than the extremely difficult later nights which make dying unfair Muck is almost perfection. Sure some of the animations are wonky and some things don't have the best models but for a game made by one man to prove the YouTube comment section wrong this is near perfection. Dani has a lot of promise shown not only by this game but by his many other games he has released on itch.io. But the real question is if Muck is worth your time. And i would have to say that Muck is. This wonderful mess of a game isn't for everyone but with it's free price there is no reason to not try and find out if this game is for you. For all this I think Muck deserves a 9/10.
