Over the years I've enjoyed many games from Jake Clover and they've always been a unique experience like no other. Cape Hideous is no exception, however this project is by far the most ambitious project I've seen from this artist to date.

This game is a hand crafted work of passionate genius.
Unlike games like "Halo" or "Call of Duty" (Or as I like to say, "call of doody!") Cape Hideous doesn't corrupt the youth with violent CIA propaganda about killing aliens and war guys, but, in fact sees the player seeing the sea as far as the eye can see as they set sail on a journey of whimsy & wonderment.

A veritable visual feast, this game is ornate with small details everywhere you look & even in the places you might not think to. In the classic Jake Clover style subtle jokes and comedic absurdity are peppered throughout, but this game is no joke, it takes itself seriously on it's own terms and offers the player a snapshot of one of the artist's many inner worlds. It is a deeply esoteric experience that tells a rich story without words, leaving it up to the player to interpret the work.

Writing a review doesn't feel like a particularly honest thing to do for a game like ths because there really is nothing else to compare it to, it's it's own thing and should really be experienced first hand.
