    #1 Does BackWPup not work when the plugin Elementor is loaded?

    I have 3 sites using elementor and the plugin will not work (I am a web master and maintain the sites). 2 of the sites are actually not using elementor, but the template required it, but BackWPup will still not work. These are on Host Papa IIS servers. The plugin works for all other IIS sites I maintain on HostPapa, but not the ones with Elementor.

    I have to use backuply… which is not preferred.

    #2 Also, I am having trouble using BackWpUp on a couple of sites also on Host Papa Linux servers. The server tech wants to know what they need to change to make it run.

    They said “

    Each plugin has its a hosting requirements. It’s possible that the plugin requirements works from the other host, and in order for the plugin backup to work with us we need to adjust something in your hosting account. However, we do not have the option to determine which settings or requirements it is. We suggest checking with the Backup plugin developer support about it.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the detailed message. Let’s go through both points:

    #1 – Issue with Elementor sites (on HostPapa IIS servers)

    The plugin should work normally even if Elementor is installed, whether it’s actively used or just bundled with the theme.

    However, since you’re on IIS servers, make sure the IIS compatibility mode is enabled in BackWPUp settings. You’ll find it here:

    BackWPUp > Settings > Jobs tab

    If that’s already done and it still doesn’t work, please clarify:

    • Does the backup fail with an error? If yes, can you share the latest backup log (you can hide sensitive info)?
    • Or does the backup not start at all?

    #2 – Trouble on HostPapa Linux servers

    In this case, we need to understand what exactly happens:

    • Are you seeing any error messages?
    • Does the backup job show any result or log?
    • Or does it remain stuck or not run at all?

    Please share the backup log file for any failing job. That will help us identify what the server is blocking or missing.

    Thank you for the detailed reply. I am just waiting for the server to check out resources on the pages. It’s actually not that they won’t run…. they won’t even load for 2 of the 3 sites in questions. The 3rd one works fine.

    Once I get them loaded I will check out the logs for further messages. Will add to this ticket soon.
