I have used this plugin to backup my website every time before I update plugins or WordPress. Today was no different as I processed the latest WordPress update.

This update caused some significant issues on my website so I tried to recover it using the backup I had just taken and it failed! I can see the new backup on my Google Drive but for some reason it won’t work.

The error message said that my Google account wasn’t connected yet just a few minutes ago the backup appeared in my Google Drive.

    Hi there,

You can find the backup log next to the related backup entry in your Existing backups section.
Click the View Log button next to Restore and Delete buttons in the right side Actions column.

As mentioned in the previous reply , it’s best to share this log using a service such as PasteBin.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi,

Unfortunately I don’t have the time to let you investigate. As far as I am concerned the recovery of the backup failed so your plugin didn’t do what it was supposed to do which is why I left the very accurate review. The review was not intended to solicit support as the moderator incorrectly claimed as I had already removed the plugin and resolved the issue with my host but that’s another reason why I take the reviews on here with a very large pinch of salt.

    Have a great day.

    Hi there,

That’s OK, I’m happy to hear the problem was resolved.

I’m going to share a perspective based on experience with you, for some context.
Very often when any plugin has an issue it’s assumed this is due to a plugin fault.

In reality, upon closer examination the cause can be user error or another aspect.
For example, a backup fails. Blame plugin. Upon investigation, it’s not the plugin.

It can be the user’s storage is full, a file became corrupted, a plugin conflict, etc.
In short, we deal with lots of flawed assumptions in a very complex environment.

Have a great day, and a wonderful Christmas season!

    Best regards,

    Nick
