    I’m getting these links placed in my pages after installing jetpack. Are these your links? They are all broken links that I have redirected with 301 redirection until I can remove them completely.

    https://fixfamilycourts.com/fonts.googleapis.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/i0.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/i1.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/i2.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/c0.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/widgets.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/s0.wp.com

    https://fixfamilycourts.com/s1.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/s2.wp.com
    https://fixfamilycourts.com/public-api.wordpress.com

    This is how the code reads on the page

    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//fonts.googleapis.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//i1.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//i2.wp.com">

    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//i1.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//i2.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//c0.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//widgets.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//s0.wp.com">

    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//jetpack.wordpress.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//s1.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//s2.wp.com">
    <link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//public-api.wordpress.com">

    What are these links? Where should they be going? Why is my domain appended to the beginning of these urls. How do I make them go away?

  • Hello, there.

    These are “behind the scenes” URLs being prefetched for our various services that Jetpack can provide, such as widgets and our CDN for serving images and static files, plus resources that Jetpack needs to run properly.

    In other words, you can ignore these, it’s just a sign that Jetpack is working properly. 🙂

    except that the links are invalid and cause 404 errors that i cannot ignore

    Hi there

    Using dns-prefetch in link tags is standard practice as described here:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Performance/dns-prefetch

    The links you listed e.g. https://fixfamilycourts.com/fonts.googleapis.com don’t actually appear in full on your site, correct?

    Are these being reported by a broken link checker plugin? If so, I’d suggest contacting the author of that plugin to see if there’s a way to mark them as false positives.

    and when google and bing see them as 404 errors and lower my rankings? They actually appear in the pages my site serves so, yes, they are a problem. If they don’t resolve then they can serve no valid purpose.

    If these cannot be fixed, the solution is to remove the plugin that creates them. I would rather not but, broken links in today’s seo world simply aren’t tolerable.

    Hey there,

    Please note that Google or any other search engine don’t count these type of links. Could you please let us know where you exactly see those links? Could you please share a full-page screenshot?

    Hi there,

    It has been more than one week since we have heard from you, so I’m marking this topic as resolved. But If you have any further questions or need some more help, you’re welcome to reply here or open another thread.

    Resolved is not at all the correct term. Ignored is a better term.

    You create broken links on my site and tell me to ignore them. That is NOT a satisfactory answer and I have already taken steps to resolve the issue through alternate means and I will be purchasing the pro version of that service.
