Hi @warmdope12,
If you want to change your site language, you should be able to do so within your admin dashboard area under General>Settings. Or you could translate the Pretty Links plugin through a translation editor tool. If you have trouble translating the plugin, please reach out to us through our site and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Hi @nevenag
Thanks a lot for your reply. I realize I was not clear in my original post which seems to have lead to a bit of a misunderstanding. My apologies. My blog’s site language is set to Dutch, which is my preferred setting, since my website is in Dutch also. However, this also means that the admin interface of the PrettyLinks plugin is automatically displayed in Dutch. There seems to be no option to change this.
My issue with this is, that the PrettyLinks plugin has been translated into Dutch, but that the Dutch translation is not always clear or even intelligible. I would therefore like to disable the translation, because it would be easier to understand the original English version. I now find myself having to translate things back into English because they are unclear in Dutch.
I thought about deleting the file with the plugin’s translation or deleting the Dutch translation from that file, but I will probably have to do this after every update.
Hi @warmdope12,
The translation file needs to be placed within the …/pretty-link/i18n/ folder. But yes, this folder is erased when updating Pretty Links, so be sure to keep backup copies of your translations which you can copy back into this folder.
Hi again @warmdope12,
You can actually put translations in /wp-content/languages/plugins/ and you won’t lose them.
