I am using the WP Activity Log Viewer and I’d like to know if there is a way to mask/remove the IP location of the monitored users. This seems to be a GDPR issue and I’d like to have it not logged if possible.

    Thank you,
    Matei

Hello Matei, thank you for trying our plugin.

GDPR does not prohibit the logging of IP addresses, it regulates how personal data is collected and used. Actually, from the security and compliance point of view, under GDPR you are required to keep the IP address for auditing and security purposes, so you know who is accessing what.

What’s important is that you do so correctly, mainly you need to make sure you inform your users appropriately through your privacy policy. You can also add a notification on the WordPress login page via the WP Activity Log plugin to advise the sers, to make your website GDPR compliant.

I hope the above helps. Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
