When clicking the “Learn More” link under the Affirm promo message on our Shop page, it always displays a price of $35 regardless of the actual product price. This means user’s need to manually adjust and type in the product price, which some visitors might not do.

There is no visible option in the plugin settings to change or link the displayed price to the WooCommerce product price.

Please advise how to configure the plugin so the Affirm promo message dynamically reflects each product’s actual price instead of defaulting to $35.

If there’s currently no feature to make the Affirm promo message dynamically use the WooCommerce product price, could you please default the price to $2999.99 for our website?

    Thanks

    Hi @jamiepell839

Thank you for contacting Payment Plugins. There is no indication in the Stripe documentation that there is a way to alter the value that appears in the Affirm information modal. The Stripe plugin does correctly pass the product amount, cart amount, etc to the Affirm messaging integration but that doesn’t have any affect on what appears in the information modal.

I’ll share this feedback with Stripe as I agree it would be better if they used the amount passed to the messaging component when populating the example amount.

Ok that is a shame. Do you think if I hire a dev online they could input some code to somewhere to default it to one product price?

On a side note, I now have found a bug with the learn more popup in affirm messaging. If you click it once, close it and then try to click it again, it does not open. So it only opens the first time you attempt to open it (unless you refresh the page)

lastly, one more issue found – the affirm messaging loads much slower than everything else on the page. how can i get it to load at the same time as everything else?

    thanks

    Hi @jamiepell839

This isn’t an issue of development; right now, Stripe doesn’t use the amount that’s passed to the messaging element in the price modal. We’ve alerted them to this and I believe they are working on updating that logic as they agree it’s better for the modal to show the price that’s relevant to the customer, not a default value.

how can i get it to load at the same time as everything else?

The load time is not controlled by the Stripe plugin. This is a function of how Stripe integrates with Affirm’s messaging features. Unfortunately that is something that we cannot control on our end.

On a side note, I now have found a bug with the learn more popup in affirm messaging.

This is an issue on Stripe’s end which we will let them know about. You can observe that behavior on their Affirm demo page:

Ok, did they till you roughly how long it will take to make the feature to show the product price?

    Hi @jamiepell839

We have not received any estimations from Stripe on how long that feature will take. I’ve sent a follow up to them asking about timeline.

Hi, the biggest issue for me right now with the Affirm messaging is the time it takes to load. i just counted and it takes almost 15 seconds to load (the website is very fast by the way). Considering we sell a high value product, this is far too long as it could make people leave the page as soon as they see the product price and don’t see BNPL options. Surely, there is a way to speed this up? otherwise i may need to turn it off which I really do not want to do

    Hi @jamiepell839

Our plugin is not the reason for slow Affirm messaging. The integration is straightforward; you load the element and pass the parameters to it. We don’t control the external scripts that are loaded.

You’re welcome to share a product page url which we can review and provide some feedback.

    Kind Regards,
