After the last update of the PublishPress Authors plugin, clicking on an author shows a list of articles, but not of the person we clicked, but of a different one. After disabling the plugin, everything goes back to normal and is ok.

I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance! πŸ™‚

    Hi @susel023

Could you please let me know the direct link where we can see the issue please?

    Thanks,

I have the same issue. It’s on the backend under posts in the wordpress dashboard. Clicking on the author link in the post admin column shows the wrong posts i.e. different authors.

The same thing seems to be happening on the front end under author archives although I did a little hack to “fix” it in the interim.

Let me know if you have an update or if you need more info

    Thanks!

@susel023 @masterbassie guys, I cannot see this behavior in our testing in the latest version.

Can any of you inform what PublishPress Authors version you are using?

@masterbassie – exactly, clicking on the author shows the wrong posts

@rizaardiyanto – I have version 4.7.4. After entering the author, e.g. https://newslubuski.pl/author/patryks, posts are shown that were not written by him. I bet that this is because I have several guest authors without a user account, but this was not a problem before…

@rizaardiyanto i have the same version 4.7.4. I also tried deleting all the guest accounts with no user account on a staging site. DIdn’t fix the issue.

Also note that when I enable the publishpress author pages i get a 500 error on those pages; might be a separate issue.

Can you guys check if there is any plugin conflict here? Try to deactivate all plugins except PublishPress Authors.

So far we still unable to replicate this issue.

    (@masterbassie)

Same issue. Deactivated all plugins except publishpress authors; the issue remains. As soon as I deactivate publishpress the functionality is back to normal i.e. click on an authors name and it shows their articles.

Something I noticed which is probably correct behavior but wanted to make note of it:
when publishpress is active the backend url when clicking on an author is /edit.php?author_name=AUTHORNAME
    deactivated it is /edit.php?post_type=post&author=513845
AND note when i reactivate the plugin and try to go directly to /edit.php?post_type=post&author=513845 it shows the incorrect list of posts.

So while the plugin is redirecting “correctly” to the author post list url, the actual list is wrong.
    Not sure if that helps.

@rizaardiyanto I deactivated all plugins. Unfortunately, just like the friend above – no change

Guys, I think I could see this issue in custom post type. Can you guys confirm if it’s for custom post type and not a regular post type?

    masterbassie

    (@masterbassie)

unfortunately the issue is under the standard posts for me.

I also have a problem with standard posts. The strangest thing is that everything was fine, and everything broke since the last update.
