The current version of the plugin doesn’t have this option hide author name.
The good news is that I have been working on a new version that has this option among other new features. In fact, I’ve been working on this version for quite some time now, but not been able to finish and update the plugin due to my other commitments. I’ll try and push the new version with this option as soon as possible.

Just wondering if you would also add more flexibility in how the quotes are formatted. Currently, I cant fully control the way its displayed in a post as some formatted is done in the background. I am talking here about italic or not etc to allow to be chosen in the quotation manager admin section.

The same shortcode you mentioned, [quotcoll id=679 show_author=false], will work.
