Scheduled posts not published
-
My scheduled posts are not published on social networks when the posts themselves are. Am I missing any configuration or step?

Hi @kaostc
I understand that you’re having trouble sharing your posts on social networks, we’d be happy to look into it for you and provide some guidance.
First, can you please share more details about your site such as:
- Website link and which posts aren’t sharing to social media?
- Which social media sites are you trying to connect to?
- Are you using Jetpack Social’s auto-sharing feature?
If you’re using Jetpack Social’s auto-sharing features, here’s a guide to help set it up: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-social/getting-started-with-the-jetpack-plugin/
Additionally, make sure you’ve connected your social networks correctly by following this guide: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-social/connecting-to-social-networks/
If these guides don’t work, kindly reply with more information about your site, and we’ll take a closer look.
Hi there, @kaostc,
Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
Sorry about delay.
The website is https://www.isf.es, and for the moment you cannot see any post not published, cause I have manually published those that has not been automatically.
I am trying to share to Facebook, Threads, Instagram and Linkedin.
I am using auto-sharing feature. It works perfectly if I manually publish the post with “Share while publish” enabled. It doesn’t if I schedule the post with “Share while publish” enabled. The behaviour I expect in this situation is that when the post change it status from Scheduled to Published on scheduled date, it is shared on select social networks. Please tell me if I am wrong.
At the moment I have one scheduled post for tomorrow, and another for the day after tomorrow. If it goes as usual, they will be published but not shared on selected social networks.
Thanks for your help.
Hi @kaostc –
It looks like part of the issue may be that Jetpack isn’t properly connected on your site. When we try to communicate via
xmlrpc.php, we’re seeing an error:http_request_failed: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 5001 milliseconds with 0 bytes receivedThis often means that something is limiting our access.
I’d suggest checking if you have any security plugins activated that might be blocking our requests. If not, try contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their security logs to see if they are blocking or otherwise limiting incoming and outgoing connections over XML-RPC.
Our requests look like the following:
- File: https://www.isf.es/xmlrpc.php
- User-agent header: Jetpack by WordPress.com
- IPs: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-add-jetpack-ips-allowlist/
Please ask them to allowlist the IP addresses listed above. Note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time, which could break your connection to Jetpack. For this reason, we actually discourage allowing specific IPs, although with some hosts it may be the only option.
Let us know how that goes.
I have tried to schedule a post again, without success (post was published in the site but not to social networks). This time Wordfence was in learning mode, which didn’t block anything.
Wordfence stills in learning mode, can you reach now xmlrpc.php? Thanks.
Hey @kaostc – The XML-RPC for the site is currently accessible. However, since you’re still experiencing the issue, could you please confirm whether this problem with scheduled posts existed before as well? If not, do you recall making any changes to the site or server around the time the issue began — such as installing a new plugin or theme, or modifying any server settings?
If you are not sure about the changes, there might be a chance that your theme or one of your plugins is conflicting, and you may need to troubleshoot this. I know it’s less than ideal, but could you please try the following to make sure other plugins or your theme is not creating the issue:
- Temporarily deactivate all the site’s plugins except for Jetpack and clear your browser’s cache. Then try to schedule a test post so that it can be published in the next few mins or hrs. If the schedule post published on social media, then we’ll know that another plugin is conflicting here.
- If disabling plugins doesn’t help, it may be the theme. Temporarily switch your theme to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-Four. Then try to schedule a test post so that it can be published in the next few mins or hrs again. If the schedule post published on social media, then you know it’s a problem with the theme.
Looking forward to your reply and test results!
Hello @kaostc,

I am trying to set up a test site to do what you suggest. Meanwhile I mark this ticket as resolved, and will open another one if I need to.
Thanks.
Hi @kaostc ,
Thanks for the update. Setting up a test site sounds like a solid plan and should help narrow things down without affecting your live site.
If anything comes up during testing, or you need help again later, just open a new thread and we’ll be happy to have a look.
