Add the following lines of code:

Thanks for asking the question. I just tried on my freshly installed website and after inspecting, I have noticed the alt tag is already available by the name of that specific locale. To understand more clearly, could you please share a screenshot, where the alt tag is missing on the flag image?

I know how frustrating this is when an expected behaviour or function does not work. I analysed few similar ticket and found currently free version of Polylang plugins does not provide block support and you need to use FSE Classic plugins to enable block support for this.

Thanks for reaching out! You can’t update all the alt text by selecting multiple images together. But if you want to skip to update all the alt text manually, you can use image attribute updating plugins like Auto Image Attributes From Filename With Bulk Updater. This will update alt text from the file names and you can overcome to add image attributes like alt text, titles and descriptions manually.
