In reply to: Importing from unsupported systemI’ll answer that to the best of my ability.
LwC is a hosted PHP-powered Blog-engine that runs off of the Smarty template. Umm, I think that’s all I know.
The home page is http://lifewithchrist.org/ but that doesn’t tell you much more. (I hooked up when I didn’t have webspace as it was free and lacked banner advertising.)Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: # of posts per page??What I mean is, have you got any hidden categories set up?
On my blog I couldn’t work out why I set it to show the last 20 posts, but only 5 showed up. It was because 15 were updates and resources and team-member bios that were sent to other pages.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: Blogger import problemYour archive path will probably something like /httpdocs/ – the folder that your main WP files (index.php etc) are in.
If your site is bobsuruncle, you’d need to go to http://www.bobsuruncle/wp-admin/import-blogger.php – at the bottom of that page is a “GO” button. When you’ve done everything else you need to press it. It’s that which actually imports the posts.
Your blog filename can become anything you want. My became something like blogger.html – not the same as wordpress.php.
Does that help?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Blogger import problemWhat did you put as your archive path? I’m no expert on all this, btw, but recently managed to export from Blogger, so you might be able to learn from my mistakes! π

In reply to: Changing Admin UsernameGo into your phpmyadmin, and click on “Databases.” Then click on the name of ur database.
Click the “Browse” icon next to wp_users. Click the edit icon next to admin – should be first button on first row (like a notepad).
Change it. Go down to the bottom and click “GO.”Forum: Plugins

In reply to: Blogger import problemDid you go back to the blogger-import instructions and click “Go”? Alternatively, did you correctly change *everything* – inc. date format?

In reply to: Not showing topics on front pageSo you want people to be able to comment – from the single-page permalink – but not to show the number of comments under each post? Is that right?
You should just be able to take out the following:
`<?php wp_link_pages(); ?> <?php comments_popup_link(__(‘Comments (0)’), __(‘Comments (1)’), __(‘Comments (%)’)); ?> ‘
That should do it, I think! (But always back-up first before any changes; that way I can’t be sued!)Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Paged navigationI couldn’t find that thread, Beel. I’ve found one addressing the plug-in in 1.3 but the solution offered doesn’t work on any of the things I asked about above; and I haven’t got the PHP know-how to adapt it.

In reply to: Single Post Homepages in 1.3arboren, how would/could I adapt that for posts-by-author?

In reply to: # of posts per page??Have yu published anything else that’s been hidden or sent to another page?

In reply to: Paged navigationBeel, does this work in 1.3? Also, would it work for categories and posts by author? (I’m guessing they would take rewrite rules?)
