In reply to: Search button in header rightThats fantastic many thanks. I also experimented and with a negative margin moved the search box up so as not to affect the header line spacing. I presume that was a good idea? I am a programmer but have only tinkered at the edges of html and php so thanks for the tips.

Is it really a problem? Really just lanning for the future when I might have a lot more. Thanks for the ideas for firebug too, they helped finding the class immensely

Didn’t know how to address that specific part of the post page though, nor about jet pack – I’ve been editing my own child style.css. That seems to do the trick though many thanks. The code in category.php comes cuat&paste fomr the twentytwelve theme. Do you know how I edit the style of the post title now?

In reply to: Child theme not appearingYes I connected to wordpress.com svn and downloaded (using tortoisesvn) untitled by Automattic and them uploaded it to my self hosted site. Is there a problem using .com themes? I have been using Timepiece since I moved across from my com sites to org.

That was the problem! Phew this has taken a long time, I hope the codex will have that info added, I’ll tell my host support too – seems obvious now but I had been accepting the host’s default, trying redirect, all sorts.

btw I have now followed all your instructions, I think. There are no subfolders. The only subdomain I have defined is the wildcard.Don’t know if this helps but whilst normallivingwithibs.patbell.co.uk/wp-admin generates a 404 error.
normallivingwithibs.patbell.co.uk goes to patbell.co.uk and
patbell.co.uk/wp-admin goes to wordpress admin fine.Could it be the wildcard subdomain isn’t working properly?
