How to auto translate your design
- Start Canva and open any design with text that you want translated. Translate works on all Canva designs. Try it once for free.
- On the sidebar, select “Apps” and search for “Translate”. Alternatively, look for the “More from Canva” section and select “Translate”.
- The Translate tab will appear on the sidebar. Find your target language, then select design pages to translate. You can also choose whether to automatically resize fonts and duplicate translated pages in the “Settings” tab.
- Use our drag-and-drop editing tools to polish your designs and edit to perfection.
- Make sure your machine-translated text reflects your desired tone and message. Finally, share and publish your designs to your socials or download them as PDF, JPG, or PNG files.
Your questions, answered
Translate is an online AI-powered machine translation tool built into Canva that automatically translates the text in your existing designs into your chosen language/s. You can use it for free one time. If you need to use the auto-translation tool more than once, consider upgrading to a Canva Pro, Teams, NFP, or EDU subscription.
To access Translate on your laptop or desktop, start with any design. Then, on the editor side panel, click Apps. The Apps marketplace will appear on the sidebar, and you can search for “Translate” on the search bar. Or, select Translate under More from Canva. Adjust the settings, and you can now start using Translate on your designs.
When accessing from your mobile device, start with any design (except Docs). On the bottom corner of the editor, tap the + button and select Apps. Under More from Canva, tap Translate. You can then begin adjusting the settings for your single-page or multi-page text translations.
Translate uses machine translation to generate translations based on the text you provide. It uses advanced machine learning technology (NMT) to provide translations that are more accurate and natural-sounding. As the translations are dependent on the text you provide, the more simple and short your sentences are, the better the translation will be.
