Kamala Harris is stepping out for the 2025 Met Gala!

The 60-year-old 49th Vice President of the United States posed for photos before heading to the big fashion event held on Monday evening (May 5) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

For the event, VP Harris looked sophisticated in a black and cream-colored silk dress, by Off-White, featuring a silk scarf and dramatic sleeve.

“The precise simplicity of this black and cream look for Kamala D. Harris complements her own strength and confidence, two qualities I consider to be the core of dandyism,” Off-White Creative Director IB Kamara shared in a statement.

VP Harris was joined by husband Doug Emhoff, who looked sharping in a coordinating black tux.

The Met Gala will focus on menswear and suiting this year with a “Tailored for You” dress code. The event will celebrate the opening of the museum’s new exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. There are six celebrities serving as co-chairs for the 2025 gala, plus 25 more stars who are part of the host committee.

The annual event is taking place on Saturday night (February 22) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Calif.

The theme of this year’s show is “Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence,” with the event celebrating Black excellence.

The nominees for Entertainer of the Year this year are Cynthia Erivo, Keke Palmer, Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Hart, and Shannon Sharpe. The Piano Lesson leads the motion picture categories with 14 nominations while Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist leads the television categories with nine nominations.

Donald Trump has officially been sworn into office again and is the President of the United States of America.

The 78-year-old businessman-turned-politician delivered the presidential oath in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol on Monday afternoon (January 20) in Washington, DC. JD Vance, his running-mate and vice president was also sworn into office.

His wife Melania held the Bible that he took his oath over. Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court oversaw the transition.

The living former U.S. Presidents and their First Ladies are attending Donald Trump‘s inauguration on Monday (January 20) in Washington, DC with two notable absences.

Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were seated together in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol to witness the 78-year-old president elect be sworn back into office.

Former First Ladies Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush were also present. However, Michelle Obama notably skipped the event.

The former US Presidents, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, were all photographed at the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter on Thursday (January 9) in Washington, DC.

Also seen paying respects for the former President were former First Ladies Melania Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush, as well as President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, VP Kamala Harris, her husband Doug Emhoff, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, former VP Al Gore, and former VP Mike Pence. It does not appear as if former President Obama‘s wife, Michelle Obama, joined him.

President elect Trump shook hands with Mike Pence. The pair had a fallout in early 2021 as Trump denied the election results.

Kamala Harris has officially conceded the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump.

The Vice President and 2024 Democratic nominee in the election for the President of the United States delivered a speech on Wednesday (November 6) at her alma mater Howard University in Washington, D.C., confirming Trump‘s victory.

The speech comes after she called Trump to congratulate him on the election, and urge a peaceful transition of power.
