There’s so much good television out there, but not everything is going the distance.

In fact, at least 10 shows that premiered in 2025 already got canceled by network execs only a few weeks or months later. Be it because of failed negotiations or simply low viewership and lack of critical acclaim, these shows sadly didn’t get a chance to take off beyond their debut season.

Etoile has been canceled after one season despite an initial two-season order.

The comedy-drama series will not be renewed for a second season, even though it was originally picked up for two seasons by Prime Video back in 2023. While multi-season orders usually have multi-season runs, this is not always the case, as each season needs to be evaluated and approved. The show will not return for a second season due to performance and cost reasons, according to Deadline.

Prime Video has released a trailer for the upcoming comedy series, set in the world of ballet.

The show is from Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, and centers around the heads of two ballet companies — one in New York, one in Paris — which strike a deal to swap their top dancers for a year in the hopes of reviving the fortunes of both.
