Young Sheldon star Iain Armitage is returning to TV, but not in the Big Bang Theory universe!

The 17-year-old actor will actually be guest starring in an April 2026 episode of the hit series Ghosts. According to Variety, he’ll portray a “heightened version of himself, taking part in a high-stakes poker game at the mansion.”

The site reports that filming starts today and the episode will officially air on April 16, 2026.

Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar star as Sam and Jay Arondekar in the series, a cheerful freelance journalist and chef from the city, respectively, who threw both caution and money to the wind when they decided to convert Woodstone Mansion, which Sam inherited, into a bed & breakfast – only to find it was inhabited by the many spirits of deceased residents who now call it home.

If you weren’t aware, there’s a Big Bang Theory spinoff show in the works right now and 6 stars are returning for it!

Young Sheldon became one of the biggest CBS shows of all time in its run, and it’s still a hit with viewers today.

The coming-of-age TV series, set in the late ’80s to early ’90s, was a spin-off prequel series based on the equally huge show, The Big Bang Theory.

The show centered around Sheldon Cooper, portrayed by Jim Parsons in Big Bang Theory, growing up with his family in East Texas.

The TV series first debuted back in 2017. Sadly, the show came to an end in 2024 with Season 7 – but now there’s another spinoff currently on CBS!

Young Sheldon‘s Iain Armitage is spilling details on Big Little Lies, working with all those amazing actresses, and the potential for a third season.
