Anne Hathaway shot to fame while starring in Disney’s The Princess Diaries and it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role, but there were actually some major stars who were also considered for the part.

Amid the news that The Princess Diaries 3 is in the works, we’re taking a look back at the other actresses who almost starred in the movie.

Anne had her big break in the film and she was just 18 when she was cast as Mia Thermopolis. Before landing on Anne for the role, there were many other actresses who were considered for the part and some of them reportedly turned the job down.

“I show up [to the audition] and I looked around, there were so many other young actresses there, and I knew all of them. They were all recognizable. And here I am, this nobody walking in,” Anne previously said about her audition for The Princess Diaries.

She added, “[The director] Garry showed the auditions to his granddaughters, Lily and Charlotte, and said, ‘Which girl do you think should be the princess?’ And Lily and Charlotte said that I should be the princess. And he said, ‘That girl’s name is Annie. Why do you think she should be the princess?’ And they said, “Because she’s got the best princess hair.’”

The stars were out for the unveiling of the Loewe Spring/Summer Womenswear 2026 collection!

Actresses Sarah Paulson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Parker Posey were among the celebrities in attendance at the Paris Fashion Week presentation on Friday (October 3) in Paris, France.

Also stepping out were fellow actors Brandon Flynn, Milly Alcock, Yara Shahidi, Liv Tyler, Raffey Cassidy, Sarah Snook, Lesley Manville, Pom Klementieff, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Erin Kellyman, Britt Lower and Emily Ratajkowski, as well as Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, filmmakers Baz Luhrmann and Pedro Almovodar, and Emma Chamberlain.

The runway presentation marked the debut collection from Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, who have taken over the brand as creative directors, following Jonathan Anderson‘s exit for Dior.

“To enter Loewe is to take on codes shaped over 180 years of history, defined above all by an enduring commitment to craft and its Spanish identity. Our task is to carry this spirit forward, interpreting it through our own distinct lens,” the designers shared in a statement about the new collection.

“For us, creativity is the only way forward: the practice of addressing such questions with rigour, fearlessness, and a coherent personal ideology,” they added. “It must remain intimate, yet tethered to a broader cultural narrative. At Loewe we are afforded the freedom to explore and experiment, supported by a singular culture of making and materiality that is expressive, vital, and deeply engaged with art and culture.”

Anthony Mackie is hitting the red carpet at the world premiere of his Captain America movie!

The 46-year-old actor joined co-stars Harrison Ford and Danny Ramirez at the premiere of Captain America: Brave New World on Tuesday (February 11) held at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Giancarlo Esposito, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Liv Tyler, Carl Lumbly, and Xosha Roquemore along with director Julius Onah, producers Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, and executive producer Louis D’Esposito.

In the new movie, Sam Wilson (Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Ford). He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.

Anthony Mackie has his work cut out for him as Captain America in a brand new TV spot for the upcoming movie Captain America: Brave New World that just debuted!

Marvel debuted the latest teaser on Friday (January 17) to celebrate the film’s tickets going on sale.

In the visual, we see more of Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk and Danny Ramirez fitting into an old Falcon suit.
