In fact, at least 10 shows that premiered in 2025 already got canceled by network execs only a few weeks or months later. Be it because of failed negotiations or simply low viewership and lack of critical acclaim, these shows sadly didn’t get a chance to take off beyond their debut season.

On Call has been canceled by Prime Video.

The police drama will not be renewed for a second season on the streaming service, Deadline has confirmed. However, producers are currently attempting to find a home for season two on Peacock and another unnamed network.

On Call tells the story of “a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Shot with a mixture of hand-held cameras, bodycam and dash-cam footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.”

Dick Wolf‘s new Prime Video series On Call has its first trailer!

The TV show stars Troian Bellisario in her one of her first major roles since Pretty Little Liars ended in 2017. It also stars Lori Loughlin in her first major TV role – apart from a few guest stints – since the college admissions scandal.

Chicago Fire‘s Monica Raymund, Brandon Larracuente, Eriq La Salle, and Rich Ting also star.

On Call is on the way!

Wolf Entertainment’s first scripted streaming series premieres January 9, 2025 with all eight episodes exclusively on Prime Video.

The thrilling new half-hour drama series from Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television was co-created by Tim Walsh and Elliot Wolf.

Here’s a plot summary: “On Call is an adrenalized and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Incorporating a mixture of bodycam, dash-camera, and cellphone footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.”

Lori Loughlin is taking on a new recurring role.

The 60-year-old Full House alum will star in On Call, the first scripted streaming series from Dick Wolf‘s Wolf Entertainment, via THR.

The police drama for Prime Video will release all eight episodes on January 9, 2025.
