'Scrubs' Reboot Cast: 7 Returning, 7 New Stars Join!

The Scrubs reboot at ABC is expanding its cast!

Several stars are coming back from the original series, which originally aired on NBC for its first seven seasons from 2001 to 2008, followed by two seasons at ABC from 2009 to 2010.

Here’s the official logline for the reboot: “JD & Turk scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”

The show was originally set at Sacred Heart Hospital, and centered around the doctors, nurses and staff working the hospital. Now, we know several new stars joining the cast, along with some very exciting stars reprising their roles. They also just reunited for their first table read!

It’s official, another original Scrubs cast member is coming back for the upcoming ABC reboot!

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is returning to helm the reboot, which was officially ordered to series this past July. It is expected to premiere during the 2025-26 television season.

Zach Braff has already been confirmed to reprise his role as John “J.D.” Dorian, and now we know that another fan-favorite character will be back.

'Scrubs' ABC Reboot Cast: 1 More Star Is Returning, Joins 3 Original Stars Reprising Their Roles!

The upcoming Scrubs reboot at ABC is looking more and more familiar.

There’s now yet another original cast member from the show, which originally aired on NBC for its first seven seasons from 2001 to 2008, followed by two seasons at ABC from 2009 to 2010.

The original series was set at Sacred Heart Hospital, and centered around the doctors, nurses and staff working the hospital.

Now, we know one more cast member joining the cast, along with three previously confirmed returns.

'Scrubs' Reboot Series Officially Ordered at ABC, 3 Original Stars Returning!

It’s official – we’re getting more Scrubs!

Back in May, it was revealed that a reboot of the beloved ’00s comedy series was in the works at ABC. At the time, it was confirmed that star and narrator Zach Braff would be returning as J.D. for the reboot.

Now, on Thursday (July 10), ABC announced that the Scrubs reboot series had been given a straight-to-series order for the 2025-2026 season.

“Scrubs means so very much to me. So excited for the chance to get the band back together,” original series creator Bill Lawrence told Variety.

The show, which followed the lives of employees at the teaching hospital Sacred Heart Hospital, ran for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010, first on NBC then on ABC.

Along with Zach, it was also announced that two other original stars will be returning for the reboot!

Zach Braff to Star in 'Scrubs' Reboot at ABC!

Zach Braff is reprising his role as Dr. John Dorian!

The 50-year-old Scrubs alum will be boarding the upcoming reboot of the beloved TV series in development at ABC, per THR.

He originally played the role from 2001 to 2010 on the TV show.
