I'm Chris Bissette. I'm an award-winning game designer, writer, and musician from Manchester. I'm the co-designer of the upcoming new edition of Tunnels & Trolls written for games like Pathfinder 2, Fallout, Discworld, Hunter: The Reckoning, and cy_borg. Alongside that I also wrote the indie breakout phenomenon The Wretched, which was selected as one of Tabletop Gaming Magazine's 'Best Games of 2020' and spawned hundreds of new games based on its Wretched & Alone engine. At the beginning of 2020 I released Detritus Vol. 1 - A Year Of Wasted Potential. This projects served two purposes for me - clearing out the half-finished projects that I've worked on throughout the year but never got a chance to finish, and also giving interested people an insight into my processes and what my drafts look like. In 2022 I decided to take the Detritus project further, and launched this Patreon. This is a place for me to pull back the veil and show you the realities of being a full time working writer. I share works in progress, scrapped drafts, and fragments of ideas. Alongside that I write longform content about writing games as both a craft and an industry, and occasionally indulge myself by digging into old RPG modules and games to do a little archaeology on the hobby. My main focus at the moment is working on supplements and adventures for my free dungeon crawler A Dungeon Game, working on new Wretched & Alone material, and developing some digital tools for creators and GMs like the hex map generator that I'm slowly building. I'm also coming back to fiction after many years away.
