The Cuttlebug Spot Bad News, Good News

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down.

I have some bad news to share with you, The Cuttlebug Spot is unfortunately closing down, BUT a couple of the ladies from the DT are going to continue with Cuttlebug Challenges on a new blog, and I will continue on with them as part of the DT. As soon as I know the new information (blog name, etc.), I'll be passing it on to you!

This card that was to be for this weeks challenge of Butterflies, and add some sparkle to the butterfly.  There's no challenge for you to enter, but enjoy and be inspired by my card:)

Edited to add:
The Challenge is moving to Cuttlebug Mania, and you can enter any project with butterflies!!!

Card Size: 4.25" x 5.5"

I did alot on this card, lol.  I cut my card base with Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8.  I embossed the mat behind the butterfly, but inked my folder first for a faux letterpress look.  I then embossed the center area by sending it through again with the Swiss Dots embossing folder...this is called partial embossing (I used an oval shape instead of the B Plate to emboss just the oval area)

A detail shot.

The Cuttlebug Spot and Chocolate

Hello and welcome here!  Did my title get your attention, lol?  Chocolate is one of those words that no matter how sleepy/bored/uninterested you are, when you see it, it makes you sit up a little and your attention focuses on what's about to be said. Am I right, or am I right, lol?

This week at The Cuttlebug Spot, the Challenge is Life Is Like A Box of Chocolates.  Any project that involves chocolate...and of course your Cuttlebug...will work!!  I went with a Card Box, the little drawer is a perfect size to hold a few chocolates.

Don't forget to use your Cuttlebug!
Box Size:  3" x 3" x 1.25"
It's been a few years since I've made some of these Card Boxes, so I decided it was time to make it again.  You can find the instructions HERE.

Isn't the cutest little box you've ever seen?  I really enjoyed decorating it up.  Purple is one of my favourite colours.  The inside decorations need to be flat so that the card part of the box will close flat.

It's a Valentine's Blog Hop at The Cuttlebug Spot!

If you've arrived from Jennifer's Blog, you're in the right place!!  If you've arrived here first, you'll want to head on back to The Cuttlebug Spot to find out all the details on how you can WIN some fabulous PRIZES.

Hello and welcome here.  It's a Valentine's Blog Hop at The Cuttlebug Spot, how fun is that!?!  Here is my Valentine's creation for you to enjoy.

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
This happens to be another Pinterest inspired card:)  The original one was made with paint chips and butterflies.  I changed it up Deneen-style.  I love the different embossed strips, and I used the same paper for the hearts but just switched the colours around so that the darkest colour started at the top. I didn't have a punch for the hearts so I fussy cut them.  The swirls I cut down from a bigger swirl, and hid some of the ends behind my hearts.

I added CTMH Liquid Glass (aka Glossy Accents) to the hearts.  I added the rhinestones first before I covered them with Liquid Glass.

 Inside:
Recipe:  PP-Crate Paper Random Collection Pattern, Bazzill Prismatics CS-4 pink colours, CTMH CS-White Daisy, CTMH SS-A Little Everything & Heartthrob, CTMH Ink-Black & Baby Pink, EF-Cuttlebug Swiss Dots & Textile, Craft Concepts Budding Vine & Sizzix Raspberry Frame, Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork, Corner Rounder, Rhinestones, CTMH Liquid Glass, Foam Squares.

Cuttlebug Items Used:
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Swiss Dots
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder - Textile
Craft Concepts Embossing Folder- Budding Vine
Sizzix Embossing Folder- Raspberry Frame
Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork Die

Now it's off to Brianna's Blog for her wonderful Valentine's creation.

Enjoy,
Deneen

The Cuttlebug Spot Is In Love

This is my second post for today, so if you're looking for the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge, please scroll down.

As I mentioned this morning, I can't believe we are into February already, many of us think of Valentine's Day and love...which just happens to be the Challenge this week at The Cuttlebug Spot, make a creation relating to love.

Challenge - Love Is In The Air
Link your creation over at TCS and you might be a winner of an awesome prize!
Don't forget to use your Cuttlebug!

Card Size: 5.25" round
I really liked how the first card with my Cheery Lynn Designs Sophia's Heart turned out, so I made another one...and I learned something, lol!!, it is best to create your card so that the 2 scallops sit flat on the table.  The way my card is in the photo above, I had to use sticky tack to keep it upright...it's too pointy and kept falling over, lol.  Well, lesson learned, and hopefully I've saved you making the same mistake.

The Cuttlebug Spot is Seeing Stars

Hello and welcome here!  Have you been getting in shape with us over at The Cuttlebug Spot?  We seen Triangles, Circles, and Squares.  This week we're looking at Stars. Link your Star creations over at TCS and you might be a winner of an awesome prize...and don't forget to use your Cuttlebug!

Challenge - Stars

Card Size:  4.25" x 5.5"
I totally CASE'd (Copied and Stamped Exactly...or in my case, almost exactly) this card from THIS ONE I found on Pinterest, I tried to find the original card out in blog land but I didn't have any luck.  I loved the embossed star...I inked the folder before adding my light blue cardstock, and then embossed.  For the Mosiac Tile pieces, I inked them after I embossed them.  I stamped and fussy cut the star and arrow...and I outlined the arrow with a black felt pen.

 Inside:

Stripe, CTMH SS- Star Struck, You Rock & Happy Birthday, CTMH Ink-Moonstruck, Heavenly Blue & Black, Memento Ink-Dandelion, CS-Kraft & Light Blue, CTMH CS-White Daisy, Spellbinders-Labels 18, Cuttlebug EF-Stars & Tiny Mosaic, Foam Squares, Rhinestone, Black Felt Pen.
