TGIF my friends!
Here we are at the last day of June and it's my final post for the 2017 month of mermaids. Which under the sea beauty had the honor of wrapping this all up... wait... what?! That's no mermaid you say... that's a merMAN! LOL, yep MerMan Kody from Some Odd Girl is seeing us off as we sail onto other themes for the rest of the summer. Once I got done coloring this hunky swimmer he ended up having a rather Stallone-ish look about him, don'tcha think? And that sentiment was too perfect not to pair up with this salty merman. ;)
Ok then, thanks for swimming the salty seas with me this past month. I hope you had just as much fun as I did. Toodles!

An ocean of love...
Hello, hello!
I've colored up one more gorgeous mermaid from A Day For Daisies to help wrap up this month of mermaids. She's called Ocean's Beauty and I just adore her vintage look. There's something about her hair and those big ol' ribbons that bring to mind old photos of girls from the 1890's. That association is probably a big reason why she ended up in the soft, monochromatic sea green combo that I went with. It suits her quiet beauty and peaceful looking nature. The distressed paper from Basic Grey totally inspired my coloring of her tail and I love how it turned out. I even used the same Copics to color the coordinating ribbon that I added to the bottom of the card. Talk about a totally different look from yesterday's card but that is why mermaids are so much fun, bright and bold or soft and subtle, they always look amazing. :)
Talk at'cha later!
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink
paper- Basic Grey
printed vellum
digital stamp- A Day For Daisies (Ocean's Beauty)
stamp- Papertrey Ink (sentiment)
ink- Papertrey Ink stormy sea

Follow your heart...
Olo!
Today's quirky mermaid is another digi from Dilly Beans Stamps. Her name is Nina Mermaid and she was another one that has been on my digi wish list forever. Again those round little goldfish bodies totally make me smile. I kept Nina at a pretty normal size for an A2 card so that I could easily add the school of fish tailing along behind her. Once again I was inspired by the artist's way of coloring her creations and made that dramatic swoosh down to her nose. She is such a pretty little mer, love her!
Ok, I've really got to get going with my day. Have a good one everybody!
Supply list:
cardstock- Copic X-Press and Papertrey Ink

You are treasured...
Hi there!
It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. For today's mermaid I grabbed the second Kraftin' Kimmie mermaid that was released this year, Florence Finbottom. I really can't get enough of these big eyed beauties and the fun scenes that they find themselves in. Florence has just come across some sunken treasure and I've got to wonder what she will do with all that gold? She seems pretty excited about it... perhaps she has her eye on a fancy new top at the local coral clothier. For the rest of the card I used a wave border die cut at the top of the colored panel then added this bright seaweed print from the Under the Sea paper pad peeking out at the top. And since I added a sprinkling of circular bubbles to the card I am going to enter this into the current "circles" challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. :)
Alrighty, well the June Challenge is in full swing over on the 7 Kids blog and with all the new goodies Kelly has been bringing into the store that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart! So get crafty and join the fun!

Sea you soon...
Good morning!
I can't believe this is the last week of my month of mermaids for June. When I realized I only had five more mermaid themed cards to make it got really hard narrowing down who those last five would be. As I was going through things on my desk I found the Party Like a Pirate set from MFT and immediately remembered an idea I had for combining it with the Mermazing set. So I took a look at this week's sketch challenge and it all came together to really make the decision for me. I masked the mermaid off at the waist to give her the appearance of emerging from the water and I also turned the stamp so just the tip of her tail was poking out of the water too. Next I grabbed the pretty little pirate princess with her spyglass and added some palm trees behind her from the retired Tiki Party set. I colored in the sandy beach and ocean then masked everything off and stenciled in the sunshine in the background. I really couldn't be happier with how this card turned out. :)
See ya back here tomorrow for more mermazing fun!

You are the pearl...
TGIF!
I fell in love with this happy mermaid digi as soon as I saw her on Pinterest and I knew I had to track her down and get her on a card this year. She is called Breezy Mermaid and she is from the Faery Ink digital stamp shop. That round moon face with her smiley eyes and carefree grin totally won me over and I could just picture her hair flowing behind her on a gentle current. To flesh out the scene I die cut several different coral and glued them around Breezy, and I couldn't resist adding a couple starfish for good measure. I smile just looking at this happy mermaid and hope you do too. :)
Only one more week of mermaids to go... who will swim onto a card next? ;)

I'd cross an ocean for you...
Hello, hello!
I can't believe that I let it get this late in the month before getting one of the gorgeous mermaids from A Day For Daisies onto a card. I have a handful who have yet to fulfill their creative destiny and it was super hard to choose who would go first. Ultimately Mermaid's Lost Shoe won the day, mostly because I liked the subtle interaction between the two worlds being portrayed in this image. Now you may be wondering what's all this about a lost shoe? Well... the original image has the mermaid holding some high heel shoes. I masked them off before printing and was able to get rid of them since I didn't need them for the sentiment and scene I wanted to create. Then I got to coloring and I went for a very bright and bold tail on this mer, and yes the fluorescent Copics even came out to play, LOL! I even added a bit of fluorescent green to the ends of her flowing hair, I guess it got a bit of algae in it. ;)
Well, after a couple days off it's back to work I go. Have a good one!
Supply list:
