Olo!
I decided to wrap up Mermay 2020 with one more Dreamerland cutie altered into a mermaid. This time I inked up the adorable Wishing You Smooth Sailing Ahead because it reminded me of when I was young and out on the boat, leaning over to see if I could spot any mermaids swimming below. Only now, she is lucky enough to actually find a magical friend staring back up at her. I did this by taking the With You image, inking and mirror flipping just her head then stamping it in front of the boat. Then I grabbed a black pen and drew in a quick tail and hand poking up out of the water. For the background I was inspired by Melissa's beautiful Splash Seasong card to grab a sun ray stencil and use it as a guide while I was coloring the rays bursting out from behind the cloud bank. This was such a helpful tip and a real time saver! I also stuck with a very limited color palette of aqua and yellow with just a touch of neutral wood which I think lends this scene a slightly vintage appeal.
Thanks so much for sticking with me through this Mermay but I promise the mermaid magic isn't ending any time soon around this ol' blog! ;)

TGIF my friends!
Apparently on Fridays we wear pink, LOL! After my Live coloring yesterday I realized that I needed to get the resulting scenes from my last two Lives on cards as well. Imagine my surprise when I pulled them out and saw not one, not two, but three pink haired Sweet November mermaids staring back at me... oy! You would think I would remember what we had done from week to week but apparently not. So this post is a reminder to myself to take a break from pink hair for a while. ;)
That's not to say that each of these mermaids isn't completely rocking their berry hued 'dos... they all look very sweet in pink. Belly Rubs was the first to get her strawberry sorbet colored hair and she is quite happy as she lounges on the beach with her little otter friend.
Glimmer Surfside was the next mermaid to see some pink, though hers has a fun ombre twist to it with the orange. I also changed things up and paired her with Echo the dolphin from one of the latest Vault mermaid sets added to the store.
cardstock- Papertrey Ink and Copic X-Press It
digital stamps- Sweet November (Belly Rubs, Glimmer Surfside, Ocean Wavedancer and Echo, Harbor Sunnyshore and Jetty, Rocky and Hopper)

Hello again!
This week we are again adding two new digis to the Sweet November Stamps store. These lovely curvy mermaids were inspired by a conversation with SN DT member Melissa Andrew a few weeks ago as we were comparing the 'extra cushioning' we've put on during this quarantine to the Freshman fifteen many of us experienced that first year of college. I like to think it means there is just more of me to love and the same goes for these new sweeties. ;)
Harbor Sunnyshore is right at home in the cooler waters of the southern hemisphere where she is often visited by her penguin pals, Jetty, Rocky and Hopper. And just like them she is rather awkward when she travels topside but she swims like quicksilver beneath the waves.
Sometimes a mermaid just has to find a warm rock and take a break from all the hustle and bustle below the waves. And that is just what this Relaxing image is doing as she watches the flying fish put on a show.
Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more curvy mer release inspiration from Melissa, Tee and out fabulous guest designer... Marker Geek herself, Elaine Hughes!
You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

Hi there!
I'm back with my final guest post for Sassy and Crafty. Even though they have begun previews of the new June release I wanted to have a go with the gorgeous Own It set of Sassy Girls. It's been a hot minute since I've done any no-line coloring and these gals were the perfect challenge so I stamped them using Ink on 3 Fade Out ink and went to work. It's always scary getting started with a no line image, they look kinda freaky for most of the time but then as more elements get colored in finally that magic moment hits and all of a sudden you have a very cool looking colored image. While I know my shading isn't 100% perfect, I am still really happy with how these two beauty queens turned out. Because I spent the majority of my time coloring them up I wanted to keep the rest of the card fairly clean and simple so each one got their own color coordinated faux watercolor background and a bit of glitzy gold washi tape to finish the cards.

Hello friends!
Marie has been continuing to add so many great new digi sets to the TGF store that I've fallen a bit behind on making cards with each of them. So today I'm starting to get caught up with these two card using the fabulous Build-a-Kitchen digi set. Once again this set is packed full of great builder elements that make creating tasty scenes a breeze.
For my first card I knew that I wanted to grab my retired Cheeky Cherry Pie rubber stamp and do some strategic masking before sending my cardstock through the printer to add the digital scene around her. The rolling pin and pile of dough that come in the BAK set absolutely had to be paired with her. I also borrowed a pie stamp from the retired Hello Fall clear set to make it look like Cheeky has been very busy making her berry pies.
My next card was easier to put together because I had the Cupcake Anya digi that I could pop right into her kitchen digitally. I used some different elements from the BAK set in this background, like the stove and stand mixer, since she looks to be quite the baker. I like to imagine this Anya is an avid Food Network fan with aspirations of opening her own bakery some day. ;)
Alrighty, time for me to go plan out my next TGF scenes to share here next week.

Love just got real...
Hello!
It's time for a new Scenic Saturday card over on the Bellarific Blog. With the arrival of June, wedding season normally goes into full swing. Unfortunately I've had two weddings in my family already have to postpone their nuptials until next year due to the pandemic and the resulting social distancing measures. Still, I've had this stamp mash-up idea floating around in my head for a couple months now so I went ahead and made this card happen... I can always save it until next summer, right?
The Uptown Zodiac Girl Gemini stamp has always been a favorite and it is so much more versatile than just the horoscope theme. When I added the beautiful Curvy Girl Bride to my stamp collection I immediately saw these two as a pair of bridesmaids posing behind the bride for photos on her big day. All I had to do was stamp Curvy Bride in the center of my card and mask her off. Then I lined the Gemini stamp up slightly behind her and only inked up the girl on the left and stamped. Next I cleaned the stamped and moved it over to the right just a bit then stamped the girl on the right. When I removed the mask the 'twins' had been separated and I had two lovely individual bridesmaids to color. The sentiment is borrowed from another Curvy Girl stamp set, Curvy Girl with a Newborn, and I think it works just as well here. :)
Stay crafty my friends!
