My Sweet Embossible You

Welcome friends to my blog and to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and for me it's a easy make. We want you to dust off those embossing folders or dig out that heat gun and powders and make a project with either dry or wet embossing. I went the dry form and I didn't use a "new" 3d folder I used a very ancient folder and I did dust it off.

The cardstock I used for my embossed layer is Cajun Craze and anyone who sells or buys stampin'up knows it is a deep rusty orange not PINK it was layered on some mirror cardstock in deep gold color. The gears are cut out of gold along with sentiment.

The inside was finished with a few leftover gears and as you see my card was late to the recipient.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the rest of the inspiration at the SOS blog.

My Sweet "Embossable" You!!

I'm back again with the second card using and embossing folder for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge.  I do plan on a bit of a catch-up as I didn't get the 2 done for the last challenge (life gets in the way of crafting_  Again I used a House Mouse Designs stamp, I have a lot of them in my collection and are my favourite to colour.

I hope you sang the sentiment, pretty hard not to LOL. First I smooshed 3 shades of blue distress oxide ink on to watercolour paper I embossed it with Gently Falling Sizzix embossing folder from Stampin'up. first pass through I had the paper in wrong so turned it over and ran it through again, seems to give it more texture. I stamped and coloured the house mouse image and fussy cut it, added snowdrifts to set the knit boot in/ The sentiment is a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Deigns. Scalloped layer is cut with a Elizabeth Craft Designed scalloped square die set.

Finished the inside with a generic sentiment and scraps of cardstock.

Mission "Embossable"

What a great challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge Blog ~~ My Sweet "Embossable" You, It gave me the oomph to use my embossing folders, I would like to try new techniques with them and since tomorrow is "Family Day" a provincial holiday I might just try one, Stephanie inspired me with her Faux Patina technique from Splitcoast Stampers. Well on to my card I am a couple of cards shy this month I did miss the last challenge, so I'm hoping to double up with this one.

For this card I used a super cute house mouse designs stamp, I made the ombre background with three shades of distress oxide inks and embossed it with the cable knit embossing folder from stampin'up by Sizzix. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Finished the 5.5 inch square card with a Stampendous cling mount stamp and a scrap of teal cardstock.

It's Inchies and Twinchies at the Jingle Belles Rock!!

You know you see the prompt and you get an idea and want to "run" with it and it takes over a week to get 'er done well that's what happened to me. Finally I made time on Saturday to make it happen. I used an old technique that a friend Donna taught us at one of our Ontario Meet-ups. So here is what I made with my "inchies".

I used a page from a 6 X 6 paper pad from Carta Bella, it co-ordinates as it was double sided and I didn't have to decide which to use   soI used both. I used double sided tape on a piece of cardstock to line up (sort of) the inchies, then I ran it though the big shot in an embossing folder.  I didn't want to cover the quilt up so just used a die cut sentiment

Close up to see the embossing folder and the sentiment was cut 3 times and glued together so it is slightly elevated.

Finished the inside, I didn't have a scrap of patterned paper large enough to put on the inside. Of course I used a favourite sentiment, it works for Winter as well as Holiday cards.
