Wood is Good.......

Shopping Our Stash challenge #317....Wood is Good ~~ use wood or woodgrain on your project. Seems a rather easy peasy challenge this time. I have a wood panel background stamp that hasn't seen ink in a while so I was happy to get it inked up. The challenge is timely since I'm really low on cards for men.

I inked the background stamp with versafine sepia and stamped it on crumb cake layered it on some ancient shiny paper then on an Espresso base.  My bluenose stamp is one of my very first stamps and is a PSX dated 1999. I love making the rickrack looking frame for this stamp. There are pictures below how it is done.  I have taken a hint from Jennifer Maguire  to use fun foam on the back of my images I want to raise it makes them much more stable to mail. Check out Saturday's post for pictures.

This shows the elevation you can get with using fun foam to elevate the image. You can see the picture tutorial HERE. on Saturday's blog post.

I finished the inside to match the front and used a favourite Penny Black sentiment.

Here is the picture of how the frame was made.

I use a spellbinders scalloped circle and a spellbinders inverted scallop circle for the frame. I then turn it over and dry emboss the frame with a rubber mat and the plates.

Thanks for visiting today and we would love to see your wood themed project. Remember to check out the "wood" projects the rest of the design team have made.

Inspired by Our Bedding? Another Fabulous Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

Challenge #260 at Shopping Our Stash is Inspired by our bedding, so take a look at your sheets, duvet, quilt or afghan and make a project that reminds you of it.  Remember last year inspired by your shower curtain it's the same deal,  Now of course my bedding isn't very pretty although I have really neat striped sheets but  I have a house and a cottage and both have quilts on them and it was a toss-up which I wanted to use so here is what I decided.

Sorry about the bad pictures, I left my camera at home and had to use my playbook to take pictures of my card. The light blue is paisley patterned paper to match the quilt block. Now here is the inspiration picture.

this is the square I used as my inspiration and here is the full quilt.

My daughter brought this quilt back from Tennessee for me it is perfect for the cottage.

Finished inside of the card.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team's bedding looks like. As always a really fun challenge. If you enter the challenge don't forget a picture of your bedding you are using for inspiration.

Time for an ATC update………

I am sure everyone has the last ATC (artist trading card) we made for a swap. These are fun filled 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inch trading cards. There certainly is a of interest in our little group to swap and I am working on the last one until the fall.
The theme for the May ATC swap was Nautical Nonsense it was a fun one to do. I used a retired Stampin’up set Set Sail and the ink and cardstock were Blue Bayou, the dsp is also from a nautical pack from Stampin'’up., also retired. All my stamping buddies know how I am not fond of distressing but I love the way this turned out. I finished it off with a nautical knot made with beige cotton yarn.

As you can see I was at the cottage doing my crafting, I love taking the pictures on the deck.
Thanks for having a peek at what I have been keeping under wraps until all have been received.
