November and a New Challenge!!

It's November and time for a new challenge at the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge Anything Goes + optional Make a Scene.

I love making scenes for cards, I mae halloween ones this year and I have a few stamps to make into scenes but for this one I use a very old favourite of mine from Penny Black, I use it at least once every Christmas season and this is the time.

I have been working on this card for weeks it seems, the houses die cut in my "parts" box, I cut three light standards to glue together and the image stamped then the transition from cottage to home happened.  Time to get everything together, where are my light die cuts? can't find them cut 3 more next morning I sit to craft nd what is sitting in a basket on my rolly cart? the dies, well now I have spares. I cloured some vellum to put between two of the layers of lights. Made the sunset background, cloured the penguins with spica glitter pens, fussy cut and popped them up. Layerd it on a piece of metallic posterboard (dollar tree) then added that to a 3 1/4 X 6 1/4 base to make a Mini Slimline Card.

Close up of the super cute carollers.

For the inside I used a strip of the blue metallic posterboard and a Stampendous Cling mount sentiment.

Couple of Challenges I'm entering this in:

Christmas Kickstart ~~ Christmas Snippits (die cut houses and vellum strip from parts box)

Want to ramp up your Christmas Card stash please join us at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge Anything goes Optional make a scene. Looking forward to seeing your creations.

Rudolph Days for January

Well this is really leaving it until the fading moments of the Rudolph Days Challenge for January, I was adament I wasn't going to miss the first challenge of the year.  I started out with a die-cut and an oxide background and it wasn't working well at all, and who would figure there are two different colours of gold? All was not lost though, I have been trying to organize things so I can find things easier (not sure that will every happen) In one of the boxes I sorted I found make and take parts all neatly in a clip possibly from 2018 Christmas open house, unmade and thought wow someone was looking out for me today. So I coloured and put it together and I have one more holiday card. It's a little sketchy who's stamp it is but could be Hero Arts.

The card could be made vertical or horozontal and the bow was already tied, whew! tiny ribbon and arthritic fingers do not work togther. The sentiment shows up better IRL.

Finished the inside with a sentiment from Impression Obsession. and some scraps from my table.

I'm am adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today and stay safe.

Let it Snow!!!

Let it Snow is the new challenge a Shopping Our Stash!! Ontario received a good amount of really wet snow on Sunday it looked very nice but it's enough for now.  It's up to you haow you want to interpret the challenge, make sure it has something to do with snow. First I planned snowmen but I had printed off some super cute Bugaboo Stamps Penguins with making a slimline card at some point so the decision was made.

Sometimes planning isn't one of my best suits  I cut all the pieces glued them together and then went to place the images and they were a tad big to look right straight, so Happy Accident they look great a little wonky.
Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment that is keeping with the theme and a couple of scraps of cardstock and paper.  It is suggested to use 100 pound cardstock for the base of Slimline cards as they are tall and it works well but you might have to add some extra stamps for mailing.

Thanks for joining me here and don't forget to check out the Main Blog and see the rest of the design teams snowy cards.

The 25 days of Christmas Tags 2020 ~~ Day 1

As you see I have had a slow start but I'm hoping to get caught up quickly. Sunday I had to go to finish up at the Cottage, a few things left to do, it was a really wet day but everything is home but not put away yet.  My crafting supplies are still not in their place but so far I have found everything I need to make a couple of cards and a tag. I love the 25 days of Christmas tags and even though I don't need them for presents I found they fit in a letter envelope and are nice to give to my lunch date friends, the retirees and the bowling ladies, I think they enjoyed receiving them last year. The sponsor for Day` is Sunny Studio and the tag I chose is Lindsey's because she had the cutest penguin on her tag.

I really need to find a better way to photograph these tags, and cards for tat matter, I use an ott lamp and a photo booth I made but they look so dark.  This is the cutest set with a penguin and all kinds of accessories, but it doesn't come with dies so everything was fussy cut. I wasn't sure what she meant by "swink" but I masked the top part of the tag and blended some oxide ink and faded it to the bottom. The sentiment was with set. The tiny snowflake were in my parts bin. I'm not sure what die they are from but I'm going to be on the look out for it as they work perfect for tags.

Here is Lindsey's Tag.

I'm entering tis in:

Thanks for stopping by now on to day 2.
