Z is for Zodiac

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are, The crocus are blooming in the lawn, he daffodils are starting to open and I see some red beginning to show on the tulips, soon will be time to mow the lawn.  And it's as new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Well I don't have much in the line of Zodiac but after a google search I found a meme and then picked an image, which is from Funnybones, a Riley & Company, I love these Retro stamps and do have a few (our Queen used one as well, so I'm in good company) I did control the urge to colour the image, it took a lot of restraint on my part to just go B&W but I'm okay with it now it's done.
The sentiment was computer generated.

first part of the sentiment.

And the punchline!!

A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge ~~ September

How can it be the 15th of September already? Wasn't labour day just a few days ago? Fall has been beautiful but sadly by the time the October challenge arrives I will have closed the cottage and all my time can be spent in my craft space.  My new to me desk i
working out great, it needs organizing but when I make a card I put it on the top shelf (keeps it safe from "paws")  Since it is the 15th of the month it's a new challenge at A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge and the theme is SNARKY!!  I paired stamps from Riley & Company with Chris's sentiments from Stamplorations, added cardstock layers an embellishment and voila they are done.

Since these are retro stamps I went totally retro with Black and White. The "enamel" dots are the last of my homemade black ones. layered the images on black then on a white base added the sentiment and called them done.

Here is the close up of the individual ATCs.

This is Coffee Lady

This stamp is called Coffee Carl

This Retro stamp is Wondering Midge

Lastly this one is called Ethel

There are many many more Retro Funny bone stamps in their store.

A is for ATC ~~ Artist Trading Cards or Coins.

It's a New Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!

Edna decided to make both cards and coins for her entry, look at the awesome background.

As you see the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is A is for ATC and for mine I decided to make cards in basic Black and White.

I used stamps from the Funny Bones line from Riley and Company, they have some great retro stamps  A few scraps of patterned paper and all 4 sentiments are from Chris Dring Designs at Stamplorations.

Here is a better look at them individually.

Wondering Midge is cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched oval and I used the sentiment from Chris Dring Designs stamp line of Some Snark.

This is Coffee Lady die cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched rectangle and sporting another Chris Dring Designs "some snark" sentiment

Let me introduce you to Ethel and was die cut with a stitched oval and pointing out another Chris Dring original sentiment from Some Snark available at Stamplorations. Ethel believe it or not was a NBUS, I had to peel the paper off the back of the stamp and I have no idea how long she has been hiding.

Here we have Coffee Carl sporting a Christ Dring original from her Hot Mess set available also at Stamplorations.

I'm entering this in:

NBUS ~~ #37 April.

Challenge #437 at Shopping Our Stash is......I Need a Cup Of Coffee

And writing this post I think I really need more than one. For some reason beyond my thinking I decided to make a masculine card, WHY? they are difficult at the best of times, nothing seemed to be going together and if it had been earlier in the week I would have scrapped the idea and went for my second choice. So at Shopping Our Stash we want to see a coffee themed card, here is mne.

The stamp I used had never seen ink and I'm sure it is well over a year old, well I haven't shopped much in a year. The DSP is way older than that,  probably 4 or 5 years old, I'm always looking for masculine papers.  Because of the dark brown I added a layer of white and the Happy Birthday was cut 3 times and layered.

Close up to show the definition of the layering.

Finished the inside with a scrap of dsp and some die cut coffee beans from a coffee die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. (in hindsight should have use the whole set)

I is for Ink.....

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge is I is for INK.
And here is Edna in all her INK

It's a wide open challenge as long as you use INK. I used Versafine Sepia ink on both the background stamp and the image. It is a slower drying ink which sometimes is a tad bit of a problem, you need to be a little patient. (not me though)

The coffee background is as stamp from Stampendous and it was stamped in versafine sepia along with the Funny Bones stamp from Riley & company. Coffee is a die cut from Verve that I won a couple of years ago from the coffee lover's blog hop.

The inside sentiment is also from Funny Bones by Riley & company the coffee beans are a clear stamp from Verve (also a prize from the coffee lovers blog hop a couple of years ago)

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to see the inky creations at the Main Blog, After you have checked them out get out your inks and show us your inky creations.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is going RETRO.....

R is for Retro

R is for Retro at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, lots of choices for the challenge and if you check out the rest of the design team projects you will see how diverse it is.  I decided to go back to the age back when I was born to the Black and White era. Photos were all in black and white, t.v. was black and white (in the 50's).  Now people are taking their coloured photos and haveing them done in....you guessed it, Black and White.

The stamp is from Riley & Company, Wonderin Midge and the sentiment is from Art Impressions and seemed rather appropriate for the image. The background paper reminded me of the wallpaper in the apartment Mom and I lived in way back in the 50's, except it was green.

Close up of the sentiment and it ws cut with speech bubbles dies from Stampin'up.

Finished inside with some leftover paper and a sentiment from the $2 bin at Michaels.

Thanks for joining me here today and head over to the main blog and see the Retro projects the rest of the design team have made.

Q is for Quip at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.....

I'm interrupting my onslaught of Christmas Tags to bring you a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, Q is for Quip.  I was so excited about the challenge I just had to make two cards.
The first card I made has the "quip" on the front of the card.

On Wednesday I saw the new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and new I could use it with my Funny Bones stamp from Riley & Company, I have had this for a while and just took the paper backing off it to use it. I thought it worked perfectly with the Art Impressions "Quip".  The patterned paper is from a Bo Bunny black & white paper pad, the retro look matches the image really well.

A studio G $2 stamp from Michaels finishes the inside.

Now my second card, the Quip is on the inside (it didn't fit on the front)

Sticking with the Black and White combo I stamped the coffee background in black, Die cut a frame with Gina Marie wonky rectangles. The image is another Funny Bones stamp from Riley & Company and die cut with Spellbinders fancy ovals.

The quip I used is really a quote by Stephanie Piro and produces by Impression Obsession Inc.

Here is the great graphic produced for us by the one the only "Lee"

I am entering Card #1 in:
Freshly Made Sketches ~~ #411 a sketch from Kim
Thanks for visiting today and it would be great to see your Quip in our gallery.
