Water, Water Everywhere

Hello friends, family and followers, it's nice to have some warmer weather but not happy with the on and off again showers but in hindsight being from an agricultural part of the province the farmers need the rain, there was not enough snow this winter for the land to be ready for planting. I have no idea where the time has gone I can't believe it's May already but are you ready for a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash? Well here it is....Water, Water Everywhere!! Create a card with a LARGE body of water like and ocean, lake or river.  Here is the route I went.

I made a Stampscapes scene on watercolour paper, I must admit this was in my "basket" I wasn't particularly happy with it when I did it a long time ago but picking it up multiple times when surfing my basket of "stuff" it didn't look half bad so I decided to put it to use for this challenge. And besides being a stamp set I bought many years ago the finished product is ancient too.  I decided it was good to have a generic masculine card in my stash.

Inside is partially finished and will be great for either a get well or birthday card, it could be used for a retirement card as well, always good to have "anything" cards.

I'm adding this to:

The Male Room Challenge Blog ~~ #186 Trains, Planes and Automobiles (hope boats count too)

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out what the rest of the design team have created, then get out those water related stamps/dies and add one to our gallery.

Challenge #402 at Shopping Our Stash is "Gone Fishing"

The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is "Gone Fishing" we want to see a fish, sea-creature or a fishing theme. I used a never been out of the package Stampscapes set called Lakeside Cove (small)  it is an 8 piece set and I've had it at least 5 years and I was very intimidated by it, so I made a background with distress oxide inks and stamped my scene on it.

The scene was stamped in black on the blue background, I went a little overboard on the flying geese so decided it would look better in the oval. Really hard to tell what colour the card is but it's very dark navy and silver.  Since the object of the challenge is "fish" I'm pretending my canoeist is heading to the cove to fish.

Close up of the canoeist, I'm sure I will get much better using these fantastic stamps, I do have my eye on a couple more that will be great for the set. clouds and water ripples, now to find them.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the great "fishy" cards the rest of the design team have made, then head to your craft room and make us your idea of "Gone Fishing"

Shopping Our Stash challenge #254 ~~ the 4 Elements

Happy Tuesay and guess you know what that is ~~ time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!!  and it's 4 Elements ~~ Earth, Water, Fire and Wind....now you don't have to do all 4 on a card that would be a real challenge but pick one and run with it!!! But do tell us which element you used.

I tossed around a few ideas but didn't do any searching on the technique I wanted so of course didn't have the proper equipment with me so I went with the basic stamp and colour and I guess you would say I went with Earth and Water.

The stamp I used is Autumn Brook from Stampscapes I stamped with memento tuxedo black and coloured with copics, I layered it on some wood grained paper out of a Christmas pack I added some die cut trees and a deer. As you can see in keeping with the theme I took my card to the break wall at Turkey Point to take the pictures.

Close up of the deer.

Choices for a sentiment were very slim picking at the cottage but I like this one.

Thanks for visiting today, please go to the main blog  for the rules and while you are there check out the samples the other DTs have made. The link will be open until 11:55 PM EST on Monday, June 6th. Just a reminder, please no more than 13 combined challenges, including ours.. I hope you will pick and element and make a project for the challenge.

It’s Saturday! Time for a New Drunken Stampers Challenge

DS139
The challenges at The Drunken Stampers is PLACE and the place is Campsite or use wood grain print or elements.  It’s team Yellow Canary’s turn for the challenge, so if you haven’t already been to the Blog then head there and check out what the design team has to inspire you.  I’m sure you have read about all my problems with trying to create in two places, well this week I out-did myself. I had planned on making my card while at home last week…..I forgot my black ink at the cottage, so you say don’t you have two? Yes both were there. We headed to the cottage early afternoon, I made my card and Oh No! I had forgotten the camera. I took the picture with my playbook and sent it to myself, it took me a bit of time to figure that one out. On with the card that almost didn’t make it.
Drunken Stampers Camping=wood
The stamp is used is from Stampscapes, I am not really good with these images but I really wanted to use it. I used my chalks to colour the image after I stamped it in Versafine Black Onyx.  My plans were to use a different oval cut but it just didn’t work. The card base is Early Expresso and the oval is cut in Crumb Cake that I stamped the wood grain background in Versafine Sepia. I used gold Dazzles thin line border stickers to accent the edges.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join team Yellow Canary for the Campsite/wood grain challenge.
Happy crafting
