Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ October

Hello fellow crafters I hope you are ready for the new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge,  I have been unable to craft very much since July due to a broken ankle, it's not easy to wield the Air Boot around especially since you are not supposed to put a lot of weight on it the first 7 weeks but we have graduated to more weight but I take my time and do a little every day until one is done. That being said here is my 4 day card.

Now here is my "stencil" card

Before I had my tumble I had printed 4 digital images from Bugaboo Stamps and boy it has been a lifesaver to have them ready to colour, I am not very proficient with stencils I have a few but I rarely use them but the sone I used is snowflake dots which I used some paste on, I would have preferred an inked background but went with a white on white, I coloured (not well) and fussy cut and tucked in behind a snowbank. Simply done and made flat for mailing.

Thanks for looking today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration.

PS
Be honest how may noticed my image did not have her hair coloured, there were a few ideas from friends I showed my card to, one it was SNOW d the second said prematurely white alas i was a "guess I ne new glassess" problem I didn't notice it even when it was on my blog, but now looking at it there i still a small section I missed, 12 weeks of not crafting has affected my attention to detail now here is my almost corrected image.

Thanks again for stopping by.

A Stenciling we will Go!!

Hello fellow crafters it's time for the December Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and it is always  anything goes with an option.

As you see it's optional to use a Stencil, I must admit I am not a stencil person, I have the equipment (although plan "A" required texture paste which was totally hard and not usable) So of course on to plan "B" which was a "fail" next in line was plan "C" also a fail, I gave up for the day I had been working for 2 days on this stencil prompt, so even though I was really late I trudged on, a good night's sleep with ideas roaming around in my dreams I set up for plan "D" and I am happy I just didn't go with the anything goes theme.

As I said earlier I am not particularly fond or good at stenciling but I dug out the winter trees stencil it is a large one so I made a Slimline Card 3.5 X 8.5 inches. I blended some distress inks to look like a sunrise/sunset  added some deer and of course some cardinals. I then layered it on a navy stardream layer and I diecut the words from the same cardstock.

Closer look although you can't see how shiny the sentiment is/

Finished the inside with a stampendous sentiment I found while looking for my pallet knives, it has a bend in it and wouldn't stick to the block, Anyone know how to flatten it out?

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to look at the main blog to see the fabulously stenciled creations the rest of the design team have made.  This is the last Christmas challenge for 2022 come back in 2023 (check the blog for the date)

Have you ever seen a Holiday Narwhal?

I have two Holiday Narwhals for you today. I love to enter the Jingle Belles Christmas challenge and I have been a little slack the last two challenges, not that I didn't have ideas just no time to execute them. The challenge is Oh Christmas Stencil, Oh Christmas Stencil, well I don't have much in the line of Christmas Stencils and I am a "newbie" at stencils so don't look too close.  Since I planned on using my Christmas/Holiday narwal stamp and die I used a "bubbles" stencil fit the 5 1/2 square perfectly.

The cute narwhals are popped up on some waves I made with a piece of smooshed cardstock and a rectangle die. there is one flat attached and one popped up to "ground" the narwals. I added a night of navy narrow frame for interest.

Closer look at the narwhals and the wave as well as my stenciling.

Finished the inside with a scrap of navy and did a bit of stenciling around the Impression Obsession sentiment.

I'm entering this in:

12 Months of Christmas Challenge ~~ #86 anything goes optional something that flies.

Thanks for stopping by today and stay safe stay healthy.

The Dreaded "ONE LAYER" card!!!

Challenge #399 at Shopping Our Stash is the "dreaded one layer card" and I am NOT a fan but I put that aside and made one.

I must admit I made one card and when I added it to the blog I didn't like it at all, If I had done some thinking about it I would have done a better job. I made an A2 top fold card, taped the edges and the base to my teflon mat and used distress oxide ink, using a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste I did an fair job with it, I do need more practice. The stencil is about 3 years old or more.

Close up to show how it pops up. I really like this and will made a wonderful Birthday, Get Well or a Sympathy card.

Next is the "fail" card, it will be much better when I cut it and layer it. but for now it's a one layer card.

Again not thinking ahead I used what I had on hand which is mostly Christmas stamps, this one is a "Fluffles" stamp long retired from Stampendous. I have lots of Fluffles and they are in a variety of occasions even one I make into a "red hat" lady.  I coloured the image with Spica Glitter pens even darkened the verse.

Close up of the super sweet image.

Ancient products used....Jingle all the Way Fluffles and the glitter pens at least 10 years old.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and see the awesome one layer cards the rest of the design team have made. (much more ingenious than mine)

Need a Cup of Joe?

It's Saturday and it's a NEW challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and it's a dandy!! N is for Need Coffee..........are you awake and ready to join us? When I saw the challenge I immediately searched my Bugaboo Digis folder and found Stella and you know what that means........SNARK!!! Here she is............

I had to search for scraps of Crumb Cake but I did use some new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide walniut stain with his stencil. The blue cardstock is Ballet Blue and has been retired for years. The sentiment is from a coffee sentiment set from Gina Marie Designs. (lots of choice of snark), The coffee and Stella's glasses have paper glaze on them,.

Close up you can see the paper glaze on Stella's glasses but not so much on the coffee. but it's there.

I'm entering this in:
Naughty or Nice ~~ Drink Up

This is the sentiment that came with the digi of Stella and the coffee cup. I added some coffee stains with TH stencil, although if I have my coffee anywhere near my table it would look like it naturally.

Thanks for joining me here today and I hope you will stop by the Main Blog check out the challenge and see what Coffee snark the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #62 O is for Outerspace~~~

WooHoo it's Saturday!!! Time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ O is for Outerspace.  This theme isn't one of my strongest and boy I thought, and thought and thought and couldn't think of what to do, then I remembered I had saved an image on pinterest and I had a star stencil I had never used. Well my first attempt was a disaster, I thought I could emboss the stars with some glow in the dark embossing powder, well the stars were not pretty and I'm still not sure if it glows in the dark, so with my last 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of night of navy I used texture paste on the stencil and before it dried I added some glitter. Since it's my first using of texture paste please don't look too close at my card. lol.

I coloured Yoda and fussy cut him out, he is standing on the earth, I also printed a Yoda quote to use.

Close up of Yoda, the laser is covered with crystal effects.

The Yoda Quote

Thanks for stopping by and head over to the SoSS blog check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for the outerspace challenge.

Second week of the Stencil It challenge…….

Over at the Cheerful Stamp Pad, check it out. If you have a stencil get it out and join the fun. We have a great sponsor this challenge it’s Stencil Girl Products…that is so appropriate.
Two firsts for me this week…..first time using a stencil and first time trying a background with distress inks and a spray bottle. I purchased a stencil but was not having much luck with getting what I wanted, I need more practice.  I had made myself a flourish stencil with the Tim Holtz Flourishes sizzix die, being smaller it was easier for me to work with.

Not the best picture but I like the way it came together.  Here is a closer look at the stencil flourish.
