Seize the Heroes #2

I am playing along with Seize the Heroes at Seize the Birthday. This is my second card and it has been lovingly made as my husband was a firefighter for many years, it was a job he loved.  I found a super cute firefighter at Dearie Dolls Digis, they no longer make new digital images but you can go and look and still download them free.  Here is my card.

I must admit this was pretty easy, after I coloured the image (due to a miss with the red marker) I had to fussy cut him out, The background I had made early March but abandoned it for a different one, so when I saw it in my "parts box" I thought wow this is perfect!!. I then layered it on a red base and die cut two red sentiments and a white shadow.

Love this Thanks die and thought it deserved a "selfie"

Happy Little Stampers ~~ Anything Goes with Dies

I am so happy for this challenge as I have been struggling to be motivated just to sit at the desk and work on something, this has gotten my mojo working as I still have more on the desk.
Thanks for visiting today "again" and don't forget to say Thanks to all the front line workers.

Seize the Heroes!!!

There is an extra challenge at Seize the Birthday blog and it's called Seize the Heroes, make a card for one or more (up to 3) for the challenge to say Thanks to our frontline workers. The first card I made is to honour my daughter's profession, Cleaning!! Along with their regular cleaning of buildings they were asked to disinfect a retirement building.

The digital image is from Lacy Sunshine, I love these images and it's hard to find something pertaining to cleaning, I'm glad I had this one in my stash. I followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 There are two sketches to choose from. Thanks was cut three times from navy cardstock and glued together for elevation. After playing around with many many many pieces of cardstock to match the turquoise paper I had to go with navy and I love it.  "note to self AGAIN...pick paper first)

Couldn't resist a close up, look at the "dust bunnies"

It's time for a NEW Challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ So Thankful

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge and it's So Thankful, you can join in the  fun by making a Thanksgiving card (a little late for Canada) or just a Thank you card. I made a Thanks card. I needed a few thank you cards and needed them to be easy and simple, and believe it or not it I made a one layer card.  Earlier this year I found a huge box of note cards (A2 size) at the local Goodwill store, they were printed on the front and blank on the inside and had envelopes too. "score" . Here is how I decorated my "thanks" card.

I die cut the Thanks out of foam core and adhered it to the card, then added a trio of pale coral flowers with leaves to the corner I then coloured some rhinestones with a dark yellow marker an attached them to the centers of the flowers.

The flower dies are from a Stampin'up set I don't use very often and there are gorgeous flowers and leaves, they also some with stamps and co-ordinating paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the teeam are Thankful for.

It's Tuesday and time for a new Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.....

Are you ready for a really, really good challenge at Shopping Our Stash? Well do we have a dandy this week!!! Challenge #330 is a Thank you card in less than 30 minutes!!! We want you to set your timer for 30 minutes and create a thank-you card, very important to set the timer and let us know how long it took.  I guess I kind of cheated a bit, since I am still in chaos from bringing my things home from the lake I did a bit of prep work. I picked my sketch (pinterest) picked my cardstock and my dies and stamp I wanted to use then I set my timer.  My card was made in 22 minutes and 50 seconds

The poinsettia was already cut and glued together (it was something I made just in case I needed it for a tag for the 25 days of Christmas Tags) I did add glue and some chunky gold glitter.  I then cut the banners from scraps fish tailing both ends. (you will see later) cut two Thanks one black one red and glued them together. The lace is from the dollar store and is adhesive, just peel and stick. My colours are Crumb Cake Red and Very Vanilla all were from my scrap or file box.

Close up of the poinsettia which is an unbranded die.

Now you see why I cut both ends of the strip of patterned paper, so I could use the end bits on the inside. I also finished it with a really nice stamp.  When I bought the stamp the top of the wood said From all of us, when I stamped it it had For All You Do well so much time had passed they no long sold those stamps but it sure works for some occasions (I'm still looking for From all of Us)
