Gatefold Anniversary (Joyce)

A friend who often asks me to make cards wants an anniversary card for her niece and hubby.  I used items from a Kanban kit - I really like the gold, cream, dark brown and black designs,  I thought a gatefold card would use several of the items.  The kit is large enough to make dozens of cards. I used the computer to create tags with the names"35", as well as the inside verse. I hope you can see the border for the pretty shape, as well as the panels framing the inside of the card.

SCS Falliday Fest - Kelli Jo's snowman

I am quite sure this is the last card I need to do all 30 cards in the SplitcoastStampers Falliday Fest.  Our challenge is to build our own snowman.  This is way out of the box for me!  I used the snowflake embossing folder.  To follow the sketch, I added some curling ribbon - maybe you can imagine icicles or melting snow!  I used circle dies to cut the snowman and his hat.  Gems, washi tape, and an orange carrot nose complete the look.

SCS Falliday Fest - trying Bokeh

This challenge, part of the 2 week long Falliday Fest at SplitCoastStampers, is to use the Bokeh technique - with a twist.  The twist is to use the white highlights only outside the chosen shape.  I colored the entire piece with watered down blue reinker.  I then masked stars, sponging white ink around them for a shimmery light effect.  This photo looks like I could have been a bit heavier with the white, but IRL I like the look.  The image is QKR stampede, and the sentiment is 7Gypsies.

SCS Falliday Fest '16 - CAKath

I have a few challenges left to finish in order to fill the requirements for Yeti status at the SplitCoastStampers Falliday Fest - 30 cards and 5 tutorial projects.  I may make it by Monday!  CAKath;s challenge is to feature a pet - and many will go as thank you cards for a Humane Society to send out.  Mine, actually, is for a request by our youngest granddaughter.  Her roomie is a cat lover - specifically, hairless cats.  I had to resort to a google search to find an image.  I used a bit of DP from my stash as well as a gold strip and some ribbon to complete the card. The sentiment is by 7Gypsies library stamp.

QKR Stampede DT card - Challenge #215 - Halloween

Wow!  This week has really gone quickly!  It is time for another card to inspire you at    QKR Stampede.  There are lots of  cute Halloween images available, both in digi and rubber format.  You may enter this week's Halloween challenge up to 3 times.  The deadline is 6 p.m. EDT.
This cute witch is called Trick or Treat, and the sentiment is also a QKR digi.  I colored her with Prisma pencils.  The DP comes from a DCWV stack - "Fall".  I used Spellbinder dies, and added a bit of twine.  I found a lot of challenges to enter this week.

SCS Falliday Fest - PattyB - Apple Crisp colors

I used the colors for a dark red apple, and browns with white to represent the colors of an apple crisp.  This is a card I made for our pastor for Pastor Appreciation month - barely made it this month!!!  The DP comes from the Faith stack by Paper Studio; verse by Word Art Wednesday, and the BLessings die by Cheery Lynn.  I have 2 additional cards for our other church staff.

salted watercolor

Reinkers, salt, water and glossy cardstock create  interesting patterns.  Find a tutorial here:  Salted Background  .I used blue ink to look like the night sky.
